 Le Donk opening titles animation
« Thread Started on May 7, 2009, 9:57pm »

One day I was sitting at home eating my broccoli and stilton soup and then Shane rang asking if I could do some animated opening titles to his new film, Le Donk. After I'd regained consciousness I said, Yeah sure why not. Of course. Yup. Yes. I'd love too.

It went something like that...

Sometime later and I'm doing it. Sketching, drawing, scanning, Photoshopping and animating.

Here are a couple of stills of some of what I have done so far... ;)

Cheers!

It's amazing that just from seeing those two stills (combined with the experience of seeing your previous animation) I think I've got a good feel for how it will work already!

Very great!

There's a new Saul Bass in town! :)

Edit: meaning 'more' as in additional!

Thanks everyone!

That's right, Ryd! Keep 'em wanting more!

Saul Bass! Wow! Cheers Dave. ;D I love Saul Bass's stuff.

The animation I'm doing will be closer in feel to the Pink Panther films' opening title sequences. Mad 'n' whacky. And I hope funny too. Fingers crossed! Shane wanted me to go bonkers and I aim to please! ;D

This is an incredible opportunity, Jill. Beyond my tiny mind! ;D

If OK I might pop a few more stills as I go on. Nothing that'll give anything away of course! ;)

I like the Covent Graden one...hhhhmmmm. Like their Cauliflower Cheese soup too, but seems they've stopped making it. Why?

The stills are great ;) Keep going fella, and I'm sure Shane and the gang at Warp will pay you with an industrial vat of broccoli and Stilton.

Great to see.

I'm at 20 seconds... 77 secondoolies to go.

Got to get another main character right from all angles then I'm on the home run...

Back down the basement I go! ;D

Oooo! A nice bit of rotation I'm guessing!

That's one of the tiny little aspects of your 2009: A Space O.A.P. I really loved. The short shot of the hand rotating the release valve! Smooth!
