This time, Shane's over-sized golden scissor fixation took him to the opening of the new Curzon HMV cinema in London. Andrew Collins was there to preside over proceedings, and the HMV store manager was there too with a Nipper (no gramophone in sight though). Let's hope Shane got to keep the scissors, or it would have been tears before bedtime! Andrew Collins reported on the event on his blog.... I heard about it because he mentioned it on the Collings & Herrin podcast last week too. www.wherediditallgoright.com/BLOG/2009/10/i-declare-south-london-open.htmlIt's good to see the mention of Collins & Maconie's movie club giving Smalltime the Barn D'or award! That's where I first heard about Shane and Smalltime!

UPDATE... FOR THE ATTENTION OF SHANE:
I emailed Andrew Collins earlier to see if he had any video of the Barn D'or presentation from the Collins & Maconie's movie club. He's just replied! He said that they didn't have a presentation on the programme, but they sent Shane the award (a child's farmyard playset sprayed gold) and Shane was game enough to take some photos of himself with said award. One photo featuring the award upon his head. ;D
Anyway, Mr Collins is as eager as the rest of us to try and see those photos again. Shane.... do you still have them? Mr Collins says he will be happy to write a small piece for the website to accompany the photographs if we can get hold of them again. Would be fun!
Mr Andrew Collins is a fan of the site too! Great stuff!

Gotta be lovin' Mr Collins. Such a top bloke. Been a fan since his Naked City days with McConie and it was great to find out he's a Meadows fan too.
Why oh why oh why... Etc. Hasn't he got his own radio show!? Why oh why do knobs like Moyles, Evans, Keavney, Lamb and Ross contaminate the airwaves with their arrogant, sneering, zero humility personas?
Harrumph.
Anyway, great find.

Do you not listen to the Collings and Herrin podcast then? It's usually ridden with filth and swearing mind you, so it's not at all like Collins on the radio really.... but it also is in an odd way.
Great fun anyway.

Not so keen on Herring these days. He's a bit relentlessly full on with no light and shade there. A bit of a white noise. Chill dude!
I did try and listen to the podcast a year or so ago but was put off by the awful sound quality. Has that been sorted do you know? If so I might give it another go.
EDIT UPDATE! Adam & Joe are off next Saturday and Collins & Herring are sitting in for them. A chance for me to give them another chance and for Herring to be more inventive with his cussing. No F bombs in the Castle!
