Whey, a soul-boy in the house! Splendid. I've been putting together my own personal library of Northern classics for a while now, including some classic 'mod' stuff that's probably from the Twisted Wheel and Torch era, icluding Romeo and Juliet (way too early for me to have any direct memories of, although to be honest I'm a few years too young for the Wigan era too). I must have about 60 odd tracks now, but if you know of anything that's maybe a bit obscure, but 'classic' nonetheless, please let me know.

Slipknot fans, closet or otherwise.... I suspect you may know that on their new DVD they all do interviews un-masked! Anyone who's ever been the slightest bit bothered with them has probably at some point wondered who they were... well now you can take a peek. I know the lead singer Corey Taylor and guitarist James Root appear unmasked in their other band Stone Sour, and drummer Joey Jordison in his other band The Murderdolls... but the other 6 are news to me. I quite like this simple video for Slipknot's Before I Forget.... with them all playing un-masked.. but still cheekily obscured: I don't have access to any music channels... so I'm guessing everyone has seen this video to death anyway! haha The un-masked interviews are all on YouTube for all you 'Maggots'.

Would you be considering turning that lot into an MP3 disc at all? That would be good, jah.....how about "the Snake" by al Wilson? "long after tonight is all over"/ by jimmy montgomery.... ;D

I don't own a MP3 player, 'though I plan to get one so I can plug it into my car cassette player (that's how old my car is ) and, yes, my Northern stuff will be one of the first things on it. Long after the night is all over and the snake are already included among my classics. Funny, but the first few times I heard the snake, I hated it-I mean as in 'turn that f*cking thing off I can't stand it' hated it; but now I love it!

I remember the tale of the snake being recounted by a character in a Toni Morrison story-don't remember which one now exactly, think it was Beloved, but maybe Paradise. Anyway, yes the wisdom of ages..... a warning to all would be 'saviours'.....

Hey Jill you dont need to own an mp3 player to make mp3's I'm pretty sure Large was reffering to just getting the songs digitally on the computer.
