For fans of Radiohead (Best band in the world IMHO), as they are currently without a label they have decided to relase their seventh lp on their website in digital format on October 10th. You can choose to pay whatever you want for it, nothing if you prefer (paid a fiver). A real ballsy move by them and two fingers to the record companies, I personally think this is the way to go nowadays, sure there will be a lot of freeloaders but the real fans will make sure they get what they deserve and more monies are made from tours and merchandising nowadays.

Wow! Love Radiohead. How come they're without a label? Can't believe they've been dropped, so must be a choice???

They came to the end of their six album contract and all the major labels were after them. Think they just decided fuck it lets do it ourselves.

The Charlatans also revealed today that their new album will be available totally free to download.
Is going to be an interesting few months, perhaps more will follow, could be the start of something big.
TBH, Radiohead don't really loose out, the way they've marketed this means basically people are ore-ordering a download only copy, therefor theres no chance of it leaking before that date so some (not all of course) people will of payed money up front o hear it instead of downloading it for free. The record is going to be released in a pysical format eventually & I'm sure there fanbase will ensure that they shift a hefty amount of units so Radiohead won't loose out either way.

Not a big Radiohead fan, but thats a great idea for releasing an album. The music industry sucks at the moment. All bands should do it like this.

I saw the Great Radiohead album giveaway.
Many Radiohead fans downloading album for free are just accidentally living in U.K. Just accident. It's only 5% chance to that to happen.
I hope they are proud of being so prejudiced and judgmental about this giveaway. And just not being fair.
Nothing could make me happy more If I only could shove up you ass all those digital downloads you send to your friends who accidentally live in U.K.
Than would make me happy more of having one of digital Radiohead albums.
You can ban me or whatever...I won't come to that shitty Radiohead site anyway.
