The official UK site now requires you to enter your age. The reason? They have a new trailer which seems to be a cross between the original filth-laden one, and the recent, more tame official one. It features a new genius electrocution technique! Hooray! crank2.co.uk/The US site has been updated too. Not investigated it properly yet, but it seems to feature a game... and you have to enter a swear word to get into the site! Lovely stuff.

The American site is so American it hurts, I typed hello as the 'cuss' word. The UK site is sparce.
The film however will be immense. Not too long now...

I haven't been paying any attention to this thread because I don't have a scooby what Crank is.....but just to say I saw the trailer tonight at the pictures and it looked like one of the worst films ever made ;D

The bit in KuPlunk with the priest kinda reminded me why I wasn't that keen on Crank to begin with. Don't get me wrong. Crank does have a lot of visual inventiveness and it is extremely fast-paced. But the character we are being told to root for is a completely immoral bastard. That's why he HAD TO DIE at the end of the first film. But, oh, hang on a minute... He aint dead. Personally I did think Shoot 'Em Up was the better film. Not because of the way it was directed, because clearly the Crank boys have more visual flair, but just because I enjoyed it more. I felt that I could align myself more closely to the politics (such as they are) of the anti-hero. He gave me a reason to root for him, whereas if anybody like Chev Chelios existed in real life, quite frankly I'd be praying for the police to cart him off as soon as possible. He's the kind of 'hero' that chavs would, and probably do, emulate.

There is now the rather brilliantly named: www.doyouthinkivegotcuntwrittenonmyforehead.comWhere you can write 'cunt' on a photo of your choice. Here's the example pic from the site showing what you end up with: Excellent! haha Hey Bryan, I see what you're saying about the character Chev Chelios. He is indeed a right cunt (see picture above)... but that's part of the whole indefinable greatness of the film that clicks with us fans of the film. It's very unusual for the 'hero' of an action film to be a total bastard! It's quite a brave move! Where the general public is concerned, Chev is kind of like the Terminator, where they are just meaningless obstacles in the way of his goals. But there is a point. Chev's bastardish persona is definitely a further play on the whole video game theme that the film runs with. When I first saw Crank, I thought it was the nearest thing to a Grand Theft Auto film we are likely to see. Playing Grand Theft Auto, you often find the public in it are annoying obstacles getting in your way.... or perhaps you might enjoy letting off some fun rage by whacking a baseball bat round the head of an innocent pedestrian. We've all done it! (If we've played GTA). .... and where's the proof of this video game theme in the film. Well, the opening credits for one thing, featuring a pixelated pumping heart and a flash of a high score table. Oh, and after the end credits, we even get to see an old school Crank side-scrolling beat 'em up! EDIT: Found it!

Previews on Thursday!
I'm there!
Expectations way too high though now. I will be disappointed if it doesn't make me want to re-watch it in the cinema almost instantly!

I saw the first one the other day... loved it! Hooray! A new recruit who has seen the light! haha Someone pointed out a bit to me the other day that I had entirely forgotten about. When Chev starts the fight in the club at the very beginning, we see the building bulge a couple of times with all the violence contained within! haha
