The Nathan Barley DVD isn't that bad. Compared to Brass Eye and My Wrongs, at least.

Dave, you should do the guest commentary seeing as you've already got a plug in the one on DMS! Could start a whole new trend of 'webmaster's commentary'... What a splendid idea! Ha ha. If it did happen, I reckon a fan commentary should involve 2 or 3 people, that way it's more like a chat, and there are people to react to comments and fill in the silences! Although it could be odd having three people who have never met before.

Hey Dave what did you do on the DMS commentary? I only really found this site the last 6 months so missed all the DMS kind of build up thats been going on with this is England. It was a nice touch that you got a part as an extra in TIE which I saw in the piccies.

Well, on the hidden extra, first-take of the commentary that is! That makes me a cult figure! (I think they said cult).

There's a 'zombie' commentary on SOTD, and I think some of them were fans who had turned up for the shoot and been made up as the undead. The Red Dwarf fans' one was made up of about four or five people who'd never met in real life (I think they all won a competition on the website or summink), and it worked pretty well. They knew their stuff, and cracked some decent funnies too.
I still reckon the person who could do the best commentary for Smalltime is Geoff Stelling - the bloke who does the footy results on Sky. He can commentate on anything for hours at breakneck speed without even pausing for breath!

All good news there! Hope it all goes as planned. I've always thought that a fan commentary would make an interesting extra... for any film. Hope that does happen too. Has there been a DVD with a fan commentary before? I can see the snidey DVD reviews concerning such a commentary already! haha... but who cares. There is a competition for a Doctor Who fan to make a commentary for a forthcoming classic Doctor Who DVD. I don't know of any film fan commentaries, however.

I like Bruce Campbell's 'Elvis' commentary on the Bubba Ho Tep DVD... the bloke could fart in my eyes and i'd lap it up regardless.

There was a brief update in another thread from Shane on March 13th 2007:
DVD is coming.... Like everthing in Meadows land though coming seems to mean ages. But like the TIE release seemed a lifetime away it is now upon us and Smalltime is making good headway. Believe it or not the hardest thing to get sorted are the old shorts that will go on the disc as they have no clearances for music actors etc so the beavers are busy trying to sift through that at the moment.
Any more news since then though... would like to hear an update!
