I worked for a few days on the set of the Joy Division flick "Control". Morton was very down to earth and friendly, and didn't treat me like a nonce when I chatted to her young daughter.
So, for what it's worth, I think she's one of the good guys.

Yeah I've heard a lot of nice things about her. Having watched The Unloved last year, i think it would be good to see them work together.

Regardless of whether Sam Morton is a pleasant lass or not, or whether she minds people talking to her daughter, it has to be said that her and Shane could make probably the best film ever made.

Some time ago Shane had an idea for a film about a prostitute with the title of Mary.
I'd be very interested in seeing a film by Shane Meadows which centered on a female perspective.

I thought The Unloved was ace - and on a very SM vibe. And Sam Morton is a very down to earth lass in real-life - still speaks with a broad Notts accent. Also her and Shane share strong links with Ian Smith and the Television Workshop (Sam pretty much grew up there). Would be amazing to see them working together! But only if the right project came up. Some words from Ms Morton about the Workshop and her local links here: www.leftlion.co.uk/articles.cfm?id=2361
