I've gotta admit I've had mixed feelings about this after seeing the second advert, it just got me a little worried as Woodys voice over seemed very close to the opening sequence of Shameless and I just had nightmares of seeing the TIE characters in a Shameless/Skins/the fun bits of TIE mixup missing all of the personal intense stuff that made TIE what it is, but after hearing about the female lead it's convinced me this is going to be everything it should be and more, not just a continuation on a story that ended just at the right place but a completely new piece of work that stands on its own. Don't be fooled by the advertising stuff Gareth. It's not something I was involved in. C4 have their own way of doing things and so far the stuff hasn't actually shown any of the actual footage from the show. I've seen some trailers that have footage from the show and they are much more like it and coming soon!!!

I've seen some trailers that have footage from the show and they are much more like it and coming soon!!! yeah I should have known, don't get me wrong the trailers I've seen so far are great for drawing in a new audience and that, but my imagination just descended into a nightmarish alternate universe, I don't want to come across like I'm putting down Skins or Shameless either because I've got a lot of respect for them something just didn't feel right for me. Having said that I didn't know there were other shorter versions of that advert and a couple of days ago the "This is Meggy looks like a bit of a pedophile I know but he's alright" one came on and I almost spat beer over my housemates widescreen loved that. as soon as I heard female lead the dots just joined and I got what this was all about and Vicky Mcclure's just gonna nail it can't wait!!! I'm only guessing but amongst everything else thats going on I imagine Lol and Woody are now at that stage in their relationship where its either spend the rest of their lives together kids, house, marriage etc. or break up and I'm guessing Woody's ready to commit and Lol's having second thoughts and to see Woody, probably the most lovable bloke ever in a film's heart brokens gonna break my heart. I'm now certain in my over active imagination that thats going to be part of this.

I've been trying to piece Lol's story together along the way and it all sounds pretty dark and fascinating and makes so much sense.
This is England obviously had a very restricted POV and the only time (I think) that we saw a scene where Shaun wasn't present, was the one between Combo and Lol. Which ties in nicely with her taking centre stage here.

I am really looking forward to this .. not only because the TV is shite at the moment, but because from reading what Shane says about this, it's going to be exciting .. and it's going to heartfelt ..

Thanks for the update I am really looking forward to this and I've never felt this way about anything, especially about a TV series! I feel like quite a rebel too! Especially as I'm still not old enough to watch This is England I like how Lol is a lead - I always thought, even in the film, that she was a strong character I have every faith in you and everyone else involved and I know that it's going to be great

A great read and a eye opener to TV filming and screening turn around the words tiet help screening this when and hell did i have that beard when we started filming come to mind . Really looking forward to seeing if all of the characters which are featured story wise can shine as the stand up performance we had from Thomas .Also think that Vicky deserves bigger and stronger female roles from her past work alone and from reading this i,m sure the parts will come flooding in after screening the 4 parts.
P.S. Thank god big bro is nearly over I was starting to think we would never be shot of it .
Let's start seeing the real talent
