It's the whole hero-worship thing that I don't understand. I find him extremely bland. What exactly makes him so great? It's probably good marketing. I can take Cruise or leave him, as an actor. However, I think in most cases, he's quite savvy about the films he appears in. I rate many of his films for the quality of the flick rather than because he's in it. He also worked with many of the directors I love - Kubrick, De Palma, Scorsese, PT Anderson... |

is this the tom cruise fucking fan club or what? My favorite actors are,
elias coteas, sean penn, philip seymore hoffman, johnny depp, john c reilley, paddy considine,
samantha morton, jack nicholson, billy crudupp. Im sure there are many more but ive lost interest already. whoever said colin farell needs help, i mean he was good in tigerland but what else? phonebooth, what a joke, alexander, fuck that ( even if gary stretch and stand by kebble were in it.)

I must say, I rate all of the actors you mentioned, JT. Penn is a real class act, for sure...
As for Farrell, he was great in Tigerland and he's been in some fairly entertaining films but ALEXANDER blew dog - he was woefully mistcast. What the hell was Oliver Stone thinking?

I think Farrell was good in Alexander. He made Anthony Hopkins look shit! lol. Tigerland outstanding!

I mean, exactly 20 years passed between Days Of Heaven and Thin Red Line - what was that all about? Glad his latest has only (!) taken 7 years to reach the screen ;D |

Yeah I love Mallick! The Thin Red line always comes very highly in my list of films I love. God has it really been seven years since it came out. I remember renting it when I was like 12!
Haven't seen the Richard Gere one but i've got both Badlands and TRL on dvd!

No... I didn't see the show with the clip on. I kind of wanted to, just to see how they edit it up and tart it up with voice-overs and stuff to make themselves look good.
Balls of Steel my arse! haha.... If spraying Tom Cruise in the face and then gibbering and mumbling like a naughty school boy who's been called to the headmaster's office is a display of 'Balls of Steel' then I despair.
I only watched 5 minutes of the first episode.. and just felt angry that it existed. The best bit about it was the summary of what was coming up at the beginning of the show.... because it was enough to warn me that it was going to be shockingly shite.

lol dude that bit was awesome!! naa they didnt like put it up with voice overs and stuff dave.. they just showed the news story from itv, and everyone gave the producer a big clap for doing it. i love how in the itv news they said "they probably wont show this clip now" and they did which is brilliant. balls of steel rocks.. apart from the annoying devil, hes just rubbish.
