I think the woman in the second logo is far more sexy...reminds me of Anthea Turner.
did I say that out loud?

BRAND POWER!
Hi! Embarrasing little outbursts when you sneeze, cough or laugh? We recommend Tena Lady or alternatively Bernard Matthews Turkey Drummers.

I notice that Happy Shopper doesn't get a mention on those recent "BRAND POWER" infomercials......strange. "to help you make a more informed purchase when you're at the supermarket".

Biscuits 'n' pop & bellyaches.

Oh yes I forgot about the biscuits! Happy Shopper custard creams and other "cream" varieties.
You could get 2 litres of cola and a pack of bourbon creams for less than 50p. All the kids would head to the shop at lunch time. Lessons after lunch would basically resort to 30 kids all belching and whilst having sugar rushes.

I totally agree Chrome. The ending in the film is far more poignant than the comic. I won't go into the details and spoil it for Ryd with regards to the comic ending.
Tuff was one character I almost sympathised with when he lost it at the garage. He truly knew at that point that all was lost and no matter what he did he was going to die for his actions.
I also think the reveal scene of Tuffs demise was one of the best I've ever seen. Especially when Richard asks Herbie calmly if he wants to kiss him like a parent would ask a child if they had lost a pet.
P.S yep I'm a massive Spaced / Wright / Frost / Pegg fan too!

I really think that the death by minigun scene took things a bit too far....I mean what was it doing just lying on the floor in Motsons Farm anyway?
And the part when Richard joins the X-men...that was a shock!

Seeing the convenience store at the beginning of the film brought back some memories for me.
Does the Happy Shopper brand still exist?
I always remember buying Happy Shopper cola on the way to school it was flipping toxic but cost about 19p for 2 litres.

I preferred the film over the book for definite.
I'd still like to know what he did to Tuff in getting him into that suitcase. I thought the novel might have elaborated a bit.
I'll still have to just use my imagination I guess - yuck!

Hey Chewbaxter it's arrived and thank god it's the Anjan Sarkar version. ;D
Going to read it during my lunch break!
Update:
Well that was a good read, slightly different take on the way Richard dispatches some of the gang but a welcome addition to the bookcase. The likenesses are good too.

Hi all, Paddy has posted on his forum the unfortunate news that the gig at Uba Rooms in Burton on the 4th July has been cancelled. No fault of RTL, the in house events promoter has been sacked so their gig has suffered.

I was recommended Lee Child by my brother and my mate. I've only read the 1st 4 books so far out of about 11/12.
Not sure what it is about them that makes them so damn addictive. I suppose I imagine being in the main characters shoes and thinking about what I would do in the situations he comes up against.............

Try the the Charlie Parker novels by John Connolly - flipping brilliant! Brief synopsis: Private investigator with a troubled past solves murders with the help of an ex-cat burglar and assassin (who are gay partners).
I'm also reading the Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child. Brief synopsis: A drifter who was once a military police detective gets into various scrapes whilst travelling around America. This actually sounds quite cheesy but I love them.
