Shane, Congrats, Just found out from Emily Woodburne at IFC First Take that they have picked up your film for U.S. distribution on July 25. I will be booking it for my theatre in New Orleans as soon as she is ready to take it. She also said you have been invited to Tribeca! Fantastic. Will you or any of the gang be coming to the U.S. to help kick off the release of the film? If so, I would love to invite you to New Orleans to kick it off right and maybe do a full retrospective. my theatre is Zeitgeist Multi-disciplinary Arts Center www.zeitgeistinc.netand my contact is through zte@bellsouth.net thanks, Rene Broussard

Congratulations to you all on your recent success in Rome and with the BIFA nominations. Good luck. You deserve it.
Anything new on the U.S. distribution front? U.S. premiere? Festivals?
my invitation to come to New Orleans for a Shane Meadows Retrospective is still good.
oh and Gadge,
I hadn't noticed the two times I watched the film in Toronto, but when I was just watching the trailer up on myspace...
pretty good job as goalkeeper mate. good Save!

Woo, that was quick.
Are you sure you haven't been in anything? Not even commercials?
Pretty impressive if it was your first time?
very natural...
what are you working on now? since?

Gadget,
Well, I can't imagine who I was thinking off. The moment you came on screen I was sure I had just seen you in something else, but couldn't remember what it was. Perhaps you have a doppleganger.
Well, I thought you and the rest of the cast were all quite excellent.
I hope to see you in more films or on the telly soon. Let me know if you do anything else and I'll look for it. That goes for everyone in the cast. Good luck with it.
I think This Is England is a remarkable film.

By the way,
this has been driving me crazy. I know I have seen Andrew Ellis in something real recently, but can't remember what it was. I couldn't find him listed on imdb.
what else has he done?
thanks

Hi, I am a filmmaker and run a non-profit theatre in New Orleans. I have been attending the Toronto Film Festival every year since 1990. Well, I missed last year because of Hurricane Katrina. I have been a fan of your work for years ever since we screened your film TwentyFourSeven. Your film Room For Romeo Brass was my favorite film of the festival that year. I saw This Is England in Toronto at the first public screening at the Varsity 8. The film blew me away so much, I saw it again the next day in the press/industry screening with a group of my fellow programmers whom I told had to see your film at the ROM. Seeing the same film twice at the same festival is something I have only done twice before ( Guy Maddin's Archangel and Christoph Ruggia's Les Diables). Needless to sat, it was my favorite film of this year's festival as well. I truly hope you get picked up for distribution in the U.S. I really want to book it. If you are coming to the U.S. and would ever like to come to New Orleans for a Retrospective of your films. We would love to have you. That's nothing. I saw 52 films at the Toronto Film Festival, but This Is England, I chose to see it twice.
It was by far my favorite.
