I'm trying to write a short story and I have the story planned out in my head, I just cant write it, I dont know why but I just cant get it onto paper.
Would someone be interested in writing it for me? I would give you credit for it, my mate is gonna draw it out into a comic (I would film it if I had the tools)
let me know if your interested.

just start writing it necro it'll get easier as you start. I have written many shorts stories or bits of and the only one i am truely happy with took me 2 years to write then i lost it all when my comp went down so i re wrote it over a year and i changed quite a bit but kept the original premise. Just start writing and you should find things change and sort themselves out. Play scenes through to yourself to make sure the dialouge is real and keep going back and reading from the beginning.

I actually got it! Phil pm'd me saying he would do it so I went to write some guidelines, and it all came out! I got the first scene done and I know what the next two scenes are gonna be. I'm not gonna use this one for this comic though, I'm gonna film this one. I've got the ideas all in my head, how I'm gonna shoot it what music etc. I just need a camera to film it, and something on my laptop to edit it with. I cant wait to make it and show you guys. Seriously I've got such a buzz about this, I dont want to post it because it will spoil it. anyways now I just need to write this story for the comic, I think I'll do a sort of video nasty type thing, with torture and nudity etc.

Sounds cool Nekrow, I agree with the other comments, once you get an idea and you start to write it the creative juices begin to flow. You will have a blast filming it as well, I use friends and family and people I know and trust in my films. You said about something to edit it with lots of different software but if this is your first film try something like sonic vegas 4.0 as its really easy to use and u can get some good quality and effects out of it. Ok well good luck with it all once you have made it pop it online somewhere like either: www.livedigital.comwww.youtube.com (if under 10 mins in length) video.google.com

Thanks Nekrow,
Going back to the other post on camcorders, that hitman film was completely filmed and shot on a Sony TRV245E model that I picked up on ebay cheap and then edited in Sonic Vegas 4.0 which is good easy to use software, this just gives you an idea of the quality you can acheive on a budget camcorder.
Once u have uploaded your video footage u can do lots of little tricks like make things black and white, slow things down, speed them up, fade in and out.

I'm trying to write a short story and I have the story planned out in my head, I just cant write it, I dont know why but I just cant get it onto paper. Ha! I'm havin exactly the same problem seriously! iv really thought loads about specific things..but then when it came to writing it, I just don't know how to begin or anything. I end up writing something that was nothing like how I intended it to be.

Writer's block - it's the ponderer's piles I've managed to squeeze out a handful of short stories and a script for a short film, but I'd love to be able to do more. Takes a good alchemist to turn ideas into words, and a shiteload of determination and brain revving to knock out a full-length effort! Write what you know, study what you don't

I'm writing something at the moment for my final film of my course and started off with a few problems. I found it helped to write it in short story format. then break that down into scenes listing the things that need to be achived by each scene and then start writting a first draft. that way you can always skip a scene if you're stuck on it and come back to it later.
I got some good advice on drafting of one of my lectures gave me. if you try to go:
1st draft - coherence 2nd draft - structure 3rd draft - character 4th draft - dialouge 5th draft - final polish
I'm using it with the short i'm writing at the moment, i've found it's helped me to be more organised as opposed to in the past when i've been all over the shop and seem to just come out the other end with a script.

I find that I have ideas for scenes or specific moments, but I have trouble joining the dots - and it's difficult to convey the scene or moment (as it is in my head) on paper. It seems to lose something in translation.
