Just thought it was worth pointing people in the direction of www.livevideo.com just incase you have missed it. Basically it's another YouTube style site (looks almost like an exact copy to be honest haha)... however, the video quality seems to be vastly better than YouTube. I know DazzaB was singing the praises of LiveDigital but I think the quality matches, if not beats that site.. plus it has more features! Another good thing about LiveVideo.com is that although there is still a 100mb file-size limit, there are NO video duration restrictions. Good news for my Bath Abbey film! ;D I think I'm going to start uploading some of my stuff on there and see what the difference is like for myself.

yeah i've uploaded to it and it is a little better, the thing i find works best is to compress your vid directly from your NLE software ie; wm9 at 512 kbs streaming, now works better for me. i used to save as a movie file in premiere pro and then compress the vid in windows movie maker but it used to look crap so now i experiment with media encoder in premiere and it has improved vastley

Nice find Dave I'll have to check the site out and upload some of my better films to it. I like the fact there is no duration restriction like with Youtube.

Just had a look in the help section of the site to see what format and resolution they suggest to achieve best quality. For LiveVideo.com they say: We recommend formatting your video for upload in .mov format at 445X334 resolution to ensure your clip will look its best on LiveVideo.Also... with regards to video conversion, I mentioned in another thread that I had started using a nice free program called SUPER. It has turned out to be ace! Seems to convert anything to anything else without any of the tantrums you get from other such software. www.erightsoft.net/S6Kg1.htmlScroll down that page and you will find four links that say DOWNLOAD... get it from any of those links. I would say this software is quite easy to use. Lots and lots of options, but not in a hugely complicated way. The only thing I found annoying when I installed it, is that it is set to be 'always on top'. There is no obvious preferences menu either. However, simply right-click anywhere on it and you get all the options pop-up.. and you can turn off the annoying 'always on top' business in there. Did you ever try it out DazzaB? I've still had nothing but joy from it!

Compare and contrast my Weston Video: YouTube: LiveVideo: www.livevideo.com/video/4D3EE1DE569F41A5A6B9DDF6D5F0A450/weston-super-mare-tourist-info-film.aspxFar less pixelation (although you still get some when the the picture gets 'busy'). Much more vivid colour! I was quite surprised by this. Most of the miniDV footage is pale and washed out looking anyway, but the photographs I used really look colourful on the LiveVideo version. The upload process was easy as YouTube, but there is a bit of a longer wait for it to appear on the site... they send you an email when it's done (was about an hour after I uploaded it for this video).
