I think this could be a choice you have to make all on your own Shane. You say you have good reasons for wanting to make it and that for me should be enough. It's always a bit frightening stepping out of your comfort zone no matter what line of work people are in, sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't but either way you leran a lesson from it. We all know you are totally capable of making such a movie. I would say go with your instinct and once you've made the decision stick with it. If you decide to go for it do it full throttle if you don't do it just move one and get on with other projects you have in mind. Would you have regret if you didn't make it? If so then make it. Do you feel uncomfortable going ahead with it without the people you normally have around you? If so maybe speak with them and seek their advice too.
Somehow though i think you want to do it and you will, it's just a leap into the unknown which as i say is probably pretty frightening but it's not though you don't kinow what you are doing is it?
Good luck whatever you decide.

Anything on Wearside Jack, the hoaxing scumbag whose actions contributed to 3 other deaths? Now I reckon you've hit on something there Shindig - that'd make for interesting viewing if it was to be made. N.

This sounds like a really exciting project. What would be put on the backbench if you were to do it?
Good luck with making a decision anyway!

The three directors already been announced. Julian Jarrold (Becoming Jane) will direct "Nineteen Seventy Four," James Marsh (Man on Wire) will direct "Nineteen Eighty" and Anand Tucker (And When Did You Last See Your Father?) will direct "Nineteen Eighty Three." Tony Grisoni, who wrote the screenplay for Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, has adapted the three Peace books. Elements from Peace's second book -- "Nineteen Seventy Seven" -- will be woven into the three films. Shooting starts September. Paddy Considine will star in '1980'. www.mania.com/three-directors-lead-hunt-for-yorkshire-ripper_article_58907.htmlWould have been good if Shane could have taken one up.
