Pinnacle studio 9 problem help!! lol

hi.ive got pinnacle studio 9 to do my editing with and i want to do a scene where the is a split screen and both shots are playing at once...another problem is that i want to overlap scenes over each other and have them playing so its 2 different shots playing over each other.i can do it on windows movie maker but cant figure it out on pinnacle but it must be able to be done lol.any help would be greatly appreciated cheers
