That's the short film that I made earlier in the year, thought living just up the road from Shane and the film being shot in his hometown I'd post it here! (also yes, I just want as many people as possible to see it, it means a hell of a lot to me as my first real short - off to northern film school in september - and I'm hoping it means something to other people too :-) Cheers!

:-) thank you, entered a shortened down version into the Can Leicester Film Festival today, cut 40 seconds out of the pill sequence at the start, felt it helped. Entered the young persons section as well as I was just under 18 when I made it, so hoping maybe to be selected to be shown or something. It's just nice to see people liking it :-)

Music is great too.

Yeah i really liked this too, some very well framed shots, i loved the camera moving around the couple as well. Music worked nicely with the film too. My fave bit was the text message thing, just the blue sky and the text in the bottom corner, looked really great, a nice fresh original idea, that really worked. Welldone..

Northern film school - Leeds Met??? I've just graduated! bastards never let me direct! hahha, However I did'nt have any knowledge of film whatsoever when I started, I was an animator. Make sure you attend every single lecture and spend as much time their as possible!!!
I pretty much got kicked out in 1st year and passed by the skin of my teeth, second year I really stuck in but the damage was done, If you don't direct in 1st year chances are you wont get the chance in second and so on, just make sure if you don't get the oppertunity you want to make your own film independantly outside the filmschool!!!
I finaly took the initiative early in third year, and hoped to match every project the filmschool made with one of my own but theirs far far too much work to be done in third year to be making a film outside of filmschool aswell
here's what two house mates a crap camera and a pair of rollerblades can do! GOOD LUCK!!!
Ps. What accommodation? try and get into Kirkstall Brewery!!!

Hey, yeah, Leeds met! I'm really looking forward to it. I'm planning on doing all the extra cred and stuff that I can, I'm already learning animation on Mya and I'm not bad with after effects. Renting a terraced house in Burley just off Kirkstall road with my girlfriend, going to go out but not all the time and not going crazy. I've stayed at halls a lot this year and hated the whole 'drunk all the time' culture. I feel like I've already been able to do that, and it's not appealed, so I'd rather try to further my carreer! (Also I have been county champion at swimming for the last 8 years which I'm really proud of, and takes quite a lot of work. So I'd feel bad abusing my body like that all the time. Better to just relax, have fun, but also have somewhere nice to crash!)
Thanks for the feedback :-) it's so nice to hear what people think. And to chat about uni/film making in general!
(Also, I liked 'Cul-De-Sac' :-) Really cool little short. Cinsidering the length I felt it was awesome, kept up the pace, good music choice, nice shots - amazing camera work considering you were rollerblading! Looked really smooth!)

just as I said, make sure you don't at all rely on the film school, If they let you direct and give you a budget then fantastic, but it sounds like your going into the course with your head screwed on! the complete opposite of me! hahha
southpark use mya dont' they? I've got a few mates staying on to do the MA so I can hook you up with them, one's a director, ones the best cinematographer I've seen, and their all about making stuff independant of the film school, so if you need a dop for something!, they've just made an amazing looking short;
writings not their strength but they use a redrock adapter to acheve a 35mm look

I grew up in Hugglescote, in Leicester now. You know. That poor village that somehow got attatched to Coalville through a process of urban sprawl.

Mwahahaha that's unfortunate. My brother lives in Coalville, just down the road from snibston discovery park. Its not so bad for a first house I guess, actually Coalville isn't so bad in general. But I must admit I'm onw of those that puts hugglescote in that bracket!
