You have a Z1? Jeez man! Get out and shoot the film! Ha ha. That's what we shot Icharus with. It doesn't get much easier than using one of those.
Use those names when you apply to festivals. Trust me, that will make all the difference. And when it comes to actors, you have to think of it this way - you need to sell the potential of the film. I paid everyone on Icharus (which nearly killed me), but I also wrote up a back-end deal where they all take a cut on the profits. Obviously, you don't need a name on a short, because it's rare that the thing will get distribution, but you should tell them that the festival circuit is the reason to be involved. Actors trade off the work they do, and if it's good, it serves them well, so there's mutual benefit.
Seriously, I reckon you could put this thing together in a few days with the elements you have already.

I know it would be great to shoot the film with those actors, but they are only interested in acting in it if they were paid professionally i.e. a commissioned film. For example Richard Strange requested he would act in it if it was a commissioned film and he got paid, and i'm not talking about £100.00 for the day. LOL
This is where i use his name to attract producers as Scottish Screen are not interested in funding it without an established producer bringing it to them.

If you want him in the film, you should focus on shooting something else first, something different. Make it, get it to the fests and then head back to Scottish Screen for money.
Otherwise, get someone who will shoot it for nothing. I've never heard of the guy to be honest, so I'll Google him. But if he's not imperative to the film, recast it, slash your budget and then you can move on. You'll always have your dream cast, but it's rare that a film gets it (even at the very top), so you just have to rejig if it means getting the film made.

In the theatre acting world he is very renowned and in the 70's he was world famous in the music biz. He's been in Gangs of New York but only for a minute. Lots of dialogue in that minute though LOL

Hey Tom, can you recommend any producers. With a producer I can attract the interest of Scottish Screen. It is a possibility that my salesman film will make Pangea Day film festival, i got two emails from them saying that they are seriously considering it. They must like it, the fest is in New York.

Hmmm... Producer-wise, I'd be cautious to recommend anyone directly, if only because in Scotland I only know the guy I'm working with, and it's not really my place to go and start bumping his name around.
I would suggest putting a post out on one of the Scottish film networking sites, hunting down a producer. But like I said, if you hook up with a fellow film maker to produce with, you'll kill two birds with one stone.
It's a good sign that the fest are emailing you. And if you can get to New York, you'd be laughing. There'll be producers to meet with there for sure.
Keep me posted on that.

No problem Tom, thanks for your help, i'll keep you posted.
By the way i'm really liking how smooth the iris control on the Z1 is. Really smooth for shadowy bits. Great for putting lights in certain places.
