Hey everyone.
We entered the London Independent Film Festival back in February, but although we made the shortlist, we didn't make final selection (which sucks). We can't seem to get ANY love here in the UK - I must have fleas or something.
But, on the flip-side, the film HAS been accepted to be screened at this year's Cannes Film Festival, so that's pretty awesome eh?
Obviously, it's not in competition or anything like that, but through my US agent's representatives, we've been given a screening slot (which is great) and I'm sending a load of DVD's to the New York office for them to take to France. The hope is to get them to the acquisition guys from the various film distributors. It's the world's biggest film market, so if we do ever get the film sold in the UK, it'll be through Cannes.
Ironic that I have to go through LA, NY and Cannes to stand a chance selling the film in the country I bloody live! It's a funny old business.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Tom.

Cheers dude. I'm telling you, there's some weird irony with this film. I found out the day before that we didn't make London, which sucked, and then boom, we get a screening slot in Cannes! Typical. Ha ha. I swear, I'm gonna get 50ft posters made up and hung outside the window of all the UK distributors. They can't ignore me forever! Ha ha.

Hey guys. The film is released on DVD on April 22nd in the USA and Canada (but you can get it on import via amazon.com). As far as getting out to Cannes, well, I don't think it's gonna happen. Unless I get another residuals cheque this month, I'm too poor to even think about jetting off to France. Would be good though eh? I'm telling you, you don't make money in this game fast! Ha ha.

Congratulations!
I did try and get you in to the Metro/Quad! ;D Well I emailed and asked and got an 'interested' repsonse but nowt else...
Oh well, looks like Icharus Broken has the kind of wings Icharus didn't! I think you should blag your way to Cannes and tell us all about it! A bit selfish, that request, but y'know... ;D
So wish I had seen it at The Five Lamps.

I shot the movie in bloody Derby, and yet they couldn't give a damn! Oh well. Such is life and all that. I might try and get another screening in Derby soon (although I'm now a resident of Glasgow), but it'd be great to screen it for all the people that missed it last year. And I'm the king of taking stupid risks, so I might just blag a ticket to France. It'd be great to go. Get a whip round lads! ha ha.

Yeah, I know about the accredited passes etc. I only found out yesterday. But I never say never... After all, I managed to blag my way into the offices of Lionsgate Studios in LA a couple of years back! Telling them, 'I'm hear to speak to John in acquisitions' worked wonders! Ha ha.
