Sorry I have not been on the site much of late, As I'm sure you are aware I am in pre-production on my new film. As always the title has changed - Bulldog is the new title and should stick around till the end. The script is finished and casrting is 90% complete. I'm still looking for a few main roles, including the 11-14 year old kid who will be playing me! I can confirm that Paddy isn't in the film as he is working on about ten other films at the minute, we are planning to work together again next year. I can confirm some of the cast for you - Andrew Shim and Vicky McClure from Romeo Brass both have key roles as does Stephen Graham (Snatch and Gangs of New York) and Jo Hartley (Dead Mans Shoes). As always I have found plenty of new talent and so far the rehearsals have been spellbinding. I start shooting in 6 weeks and conna wait to get started. I hope I can pull it off! Should be out next summer...

Jo Hartley? Is she the woman with the kids towards the end?
Stephen Graham - good choice always rated him. He's a local lad too from Ibstock I think.
Anyhoo all sounds good Shane!

"I hope i can pull it off!" You will Shane have you let us down before? didn't think so. I thought oi! this is England was a great title. Bulldog is a nice one too. Pleased about Stephen Graham being cast, terrific actor. Shame about Paddy not having a role. How do you audition for a role in this film? (If there's any left by the time someone sees this. I'll play anything )

I think under the circumstances of the last few weeks, the change in name is a good idea. Keeping the Oi would only attract the wrong sort of press. Break a leg as they say and I cant wait to see it.
Will there be a lot of reggae and Ska in it?

OK guys i thought i had to leave a post as its been a while but ive been growing my beard. After all this time the only thing i can think to post is how fit i think Joe Hartley ( if thats her name, marks wife in DMS ) is, what a stunner. If you read this Shane old pal, write in a shower scene or some pointless nudity for perverts like your chum JT. Also i just watched smalltime again and wondered if you would be using any of the gany again particularry(spelling?) the guy who plays your pal who runs off at the end. Oh yeah and one last thing is you see Stand By Kebble give him a dirty sanchez from me.

I think 'OI this is England' was a fantastic title for the film and really love the promotional brochure. Who did the black and white photography for it? Was the title dumped because of controversy?

The photographs used in the brochure are taken from the book 'SKINHEAD' by Nick Knight.
I have no idea about the title change though.

Hey there deadmansrockports.... you should now be able to log into the account you made with this message board instead of posting as a guest.
If you were having trouble signing in, I should now have sorted it all out. Give it a go and let me know.

I prefer the new title...Oi This is England made me think of some of those crappy football hooligan films like the Football Factory. Bulldog is better...maybe it should be British Bulldog and just be an hour and a half of kids charging up and down a playground?
Bad news about Paddy not being in it! Looking at the published script for Romeo Brass and the end result of Romeo and DMS, it seems Paddy brings a lot to each project and brings the best out of Shane.
On a different note, has anyone seen Heartlands? I watched it the other week and wasn't impressed. However, that (Andrew?) Strong bloke out of 'The Long Firm' or whatever it was called was good in it - Shane should think about using him.
Does anyone know what films Paddy is working on?

Hey, Straygoat, you may be dismayed to learn that the title has kind of gone back to the first title, although there is no longer any 'OI!' in it. This Is England ... that's the latest title for the project (as the other post in this section says! )

YEAH, I am dismayed!!! Sorry, I've been off the site for a while...my favourites link stopped working for some reason and it took some time to track it down.
I preferred the Bulldog title. Nevermind, This is England is still better than Oi! This is England...that Oi never felt right to me...seemed like something a Yank would call a film about English skins...as if Oi made it more authentic or something.
As long as we get some Specials tracks in there, I'm happy.

Oi! I'm a Yank! Dunno about yanks thinking Oi! is more English. Yanks don't have a clue as to what Oi! means. We do like watching the hooligans though...we weren't sure ther was any testosterone left in England with all the "diversity" brainwashing etc. So when are you Whites slated for extinction? 2025...2050? Maybe when you lads are finally driven to minority status you'll start realizing "Oi! maybe we ought to not support our own genocide"... But I doubt it. The diversity Commies will probably blab on about Englands historic racism as to why the country turned into a third world shite hole! Those evil Whites dared to fight for their existence and that prolonged our multi culti paradise...we reckon the paradise will come in the next twenty years after the "legacy" of evil, vile, dispicable, dirty, Nazi, hate mongering, English racism has faded a bit more. Fucking pathetic!
