Hi Everyone, sad to say mine and Paddys new film 'Sweet Maria', has been pulled from production in the last few weeks. For lots of reasons I won't go into right now, it may never happen. So after a few weeks on the Xbox I have come up with a brand new idea that I will be writing myself with the hope of shooting in the summer. All I can say thus far is that it will be set in the early 80's and will focus on the skinheads. I'm meeting film4 next week and will tell more after that. Cheers.

lNo way was that really shane meadows? Just seen dead mans shoes and it was superb, keep making them like that! made all the better because it was shot in matlock (i live close) And keep using paddy considine aswell he is class (i think i saw him in HMV in derby a couple of months ago) And if you ever film owt up my way again let me know and i'll help. www.freewebs.com/clownshoes |

If I could write something a tenth as good as Romeo Brass or Dead Man's Shoes I'd be delighted. Look forward to you and Paddy dong more work.

I heard that Shane post on this site and it's nice to see it's not bullshit just to get fans on here. If you read this i've got a question for you Mr Meadows, do you ever read any scripts from British writers that want advice from you? I know you must be busy but i'd really appreciate comments from someone i actually respeact. ( theres not many )

ay?...how come (with respect ) Shane , you did'nt attend the burton short film festival, i did ask if you were attending on the old forum? maybe i should have asked on this one , however i asume you were incredibly busy or you never knew, anyhow i must thank you for some fantastic inspirational films, pass my regards ands congragts to paddy , for his," empire bes actor award".

first of all i must say that this new forum is very shiny and new!
sad news about the film shane, but i have high hopes that whatever you do next will continue to cement your place in the film industry.
over at the empire forum someone has posted a laughable rant against room for romeo brass, i plan to politley tell them what i think of their opinions... ;D

So what happened to the skin head idea? I've just read that Shane and Paddy are going ahead with a film called 'Le Donk'. Sounds alright too.
Shane + Paddy = quality. It's a shame Paddy didn't stay on board Midlands and help Shane deal with the pressures...I'm sure there was a good film in there somewhere.
By the way, if Shane ever reads this - my mate is desperate to be an extra in a Meadows film. He'd do it for nowt - any chance?!

You have got the order of the projects mixed up there. Le Donk was the original title for the project which eventually became called Sweet Maria. It is this project that has been shelved.
The skinhead film is the current project that is being written.

Hi Guys....I am a newbie here...please don't beast on me!  I thought I would come here and give my respect to the biggest hope in British filmmaking. Please read my review of Dead Mans Shoes at www.thesleepingshaman.com Shane, a film about Skinheads...terrific era, grew up running from them and "glueys"...insane. Irony has it now is that I am 6'3" , 220+ lbs, Skinhead and tatts... must be a link. Not touting to be an extra but hey, if you want someone to play "Victim No1" in a 1 sec flash...I'm your man hahaha! ;D p.s. Good luck in the US. |
