I am now in the possession of some TIE posters and attached to them as I am, I know that I only really need one for myself, a few for my family and one for my archives.
So for anyone out there who can't get one as part of their job at a cinema (That means you Tom Yeboah!) or was unlucky enough to get one of the few that are covered in felt tip penis's, I am going to give one and one only from my private collection to the person who can guess the weight of Mark Herbert's titchy hands combined with the weight of my stocky but relatively tiny Japanese style feet!
Myself and Mark will document (on a mobile phone) our weigh-in the week after next and post up the result. The winner will be the one with the closest weight (to within the nearest ounce) and there will be 2 runners up prizes of a signed TIE promotional Booklet for the Two closest separate weights of Marks Hands and My Feet. So when you make your guess you must put three weights forward to be eligible - 1. Marks Hands, 2. My Feet, 3. The combined weight of both.
The deadline for entries is midnight on the 26th April to ensure only members previous to the films release can win. The video of the official weigh-in should hopefully appear on the day of the release. Please take into account that both myself and Mark reserve the right to wear light cotton gloves/socks at the weigh-in to protect ourselves from too much embarrassment. But even though we may be wearing them on the video footage, they will be weighed separately if worn, and the added amount will be deducted from the final figure, giving a true naked hand/foot reading.
Only one guess per member, so don't rush it. Any edit's or removals will result in immediate expulsion. Happy Guessing.
*PLEASE POST YOUR ENTRY IN THE APPROPRIATE THREAD*

How exciting - any clues as to where a foot becomes an ankle becomes a leg or is that all part of the fun.....?

We will lie flat on the floor and use an overhang technique to ensure the most genuine reading. We will both have black tape around the wrist/ankle bones to give a visual cut off for the chosen limbs which will also double up as padding against the hard edge of the scales.

Isn't there a scientific, Archimedes style method of doing this. Plunging said hands and feet into a body of water and then weighing the water which is displaced! Hmmm that's a measurement of mass though isn't it? Could still work.... what is the combined weight of the hands and feet measured by the equivalent mass in water! ;D Maybe.

Just to annoy all those who have already put up their answer... I think that at specific thread for everyone's answers may end up being easier to sort through when the true weights are announced!
So please post your answers in the thread entitled FREAKY WEIGHT GUESS COMPETITION ANSWERS No changing your guesses if you need to repost your entry from this thread! I'll be checking!
We can keep this thread to discuss the finer points of extremity weighing.
I'll wait until after the weekend to announce this foot and hand (not a disease) competition on the front page.

We will both have black tape around the wrist/ankle bones to give a visual cut off for the chosen limbs which will also double up as padding against the hard edge of the scales. I can't see it myself... hahaha. There's no way of doing it with any accuracy because the attached arm/leg will cause havoc with the results no matter you do. I'm more than happy to be proven wrong (I usually am). Dismemberment is the only truly accurate method. ;D There needs to be a clause: "The Shane Meadows method of hand and foot weighing is final. Discussions about the method of weighing will not be entered into. The foot and hand weights derived from the patented Shane Meadows hand and foot weighing method may not stand up in a court of law, so just leave it!"
