Well, I've seen it after months of anticipation and what can I say ' Stunning'. It had everything Highs, lows,Great cast, acting, filming, locations, sound track, you've done it again Shane (and all). As typing this, local BBC radio are doing a revue of the screening I went to in Birmingham,They've given it 10/10 (Never been given before) and said its going to be the best British film this year and everyone should go and see it. Well done again.

It's just as powerful and affecting after the third time seeing it. That's the sign of a masterpiece.

It's just as powerful and affecting after the third time seeing it. That's the sign of a masterpiece. Spot on Dave 2! Went to see it last night at Cineworld on Broad Street (Brum) with a 'special' friend and my son. A few random observations. 1. The cinema was about two thirds full, which I think is pretty good for Brum and a 18.20 slot-makes me think the later show was likely sold out. 2. My son rarely goes to the cinema (odd really given me and his sister are film nuts), but he wanted to tag along and he loved it!! I know this is meaningless to all of you-but believe me, high praise indeed. 3. Noticed a few things that had barely registered before: e.g Gadget's performance was very, very funny-will admit to having been stoned once or twice but I've never poured water over me head! 4. Really loved the close up shot of the dandelion head-a bit Terrence Malick? 5. I've said this before, but on a third viewing Stephen Graham's performance is stunning-so much emotion-he must have been drained by the rap. 6. Had the radio on driving down to Sainsbury's this afternoon. TIE was rated best British film of the year (with clips) by the mighty Hereford and Worcester station ;D Great film!! Congratulations again to everybody. I'm committed to seeing it again soon with one of me mates-bloody hell this is becoming a chore ;D

SPOILER: Yes, completely agree. We're left to assume so much about Combo's story, but that scene is the big clue. He's a massively unpleasant, but deeply sad character...........I think all of this comes to a horrible but deeply affecting climax in THAT scene with Milky. Again, kudos to Stephen Graham and to Shane.....if I was forced to reduce the special quality of Shane's films to two words, I think they would be 'their humanity.'

Yeah I watched it again tonight for the fourth time. Had the whole family and friends of- their too.
Again looked at it in a different light to the previous three times.. I felt so much more attached to it tonight.. duno weather its because before I was still struggling to take it all in, and also too oblivious to a lot of it due to me being in it and other crazy psycological reasons when watching..
but yeah.. Even if someone else was playing Kes, I'd appriciate the films integrity all the same.
