ok it's G 30-35 which i'd like to narrate, cheers On the list you go. Don't rush... nobody else is! Anyway, I'm sure we'll get there in the end! I'm not going to give in... I'm waiting until each section is done by a different person!

Got it! Thanks. Looks like we will have 11 sections completed very soon. That's only 8 more to do. I want to wait until each section is done by a different person, so there may still be a long wait to go. I may send out another message to everyone to see if it drums up a few more helpful souls. Remember, just because you failed to do it on time the first time (all you blue named folks), doesn't mean you can't still do your bit. Just let me know if you are still up for it!

Hi Dave - sorry I thought I could record my comments on my webcam. But the film ended up far too big to e-mail. So I got a mic to record it - but how do I actually record it, please? A previous poster mentions downloading tools. Sorry for my naivety!

You could try sending Dave the webcam file via something like rapidshare or yousendit and he could rip the audio from it.

Here's how I did mine just in case it gives you any ideas.
I recorded it on my camcorder. Imported it into iMovie on my Mac (PCs should have equivalent software). Extracted the audio from the clip then (and this is the bit I found out by accident) dragged the audio 'thumbnail' onto my desktop where it was automatically saved as an .aiff file. I then converted it into an .mp3 in iTunes.

Hi James, this probably isn't helpful-I'm a techno idiot really- but on my pc (windows) from the start menu, all programmes, then accessories, then entertainment, then sound recorder. Press play, record and then select save or save as from drop down file menu (saves as .wav file). You should be able to watch the DVD and record at the same time, no problem. Providing you remember where you saved it, you should then be able to send it by email as you would with any other attachment.
I recorded mine on my mp3 player, while watching the DVD (mute) on the telly. Nothing special, cost a tenner from Comet. Doesn't require a mic, just go to voice directory, press play, speak, press stop, then plug into your computer and open your MP3 player through 'my computer' or the normal 'open' function in the drop down menu. You can play back the file either on the mp3 player or through windows media player.

A previous poster mentions downloading tools. Sorry for my naivety! Do you have a YouTube account? As Chewbaxer's contribution proved, I can successfully grab audio from YouTube videos. Chewbaxter did his on his camera phone, then uploaded the video to YouTube. Then he sent me the link, I grabbed it, and then he removed it from YouTube. I've never done it, but doesn't YouTube have a direct capture option? This is where you do something on a webcam live and it uploads to YouTube as you do it!

Cheers Dave. Thanks for all those tips, I can record it as a WINDOWS MEDIA AUDIO (WMA) file. Is that ok? Thanks a lot to Jill by the way - great help actually! I must be a similar techno fool. I shall re-record it later today and get it sent.

Ah glad you found it Dave - it is weird indeed! Just my luck to be deemed SPAM, although it is a tasty meat product.

...it's not as easy as i first thought, this i wrote the blurb on friday whilst watching the clip on another monitor, and read it back to myself a few times and i sound like kirsty wark off newsnight review. i don't want to sound like one of them clever burds off the tele. *sob* i'm going to have to do a complete rewrite. not for the faint-hearted, this but i will get there! it's not easy when you've got role models like harry hill on you've been framed to aspire to.
