Howyeh everyone. I'm Billie (not actually my real name, but everybody just calls me that, so...) from Northern Italy... I'm a keen rugby player and enthusiast, and also do a bit of rugby writing, used to work in a museum, close to graduating and far from having an idea of what to do with me life. I play in a band which you can check out at www.myspace.com/pressuredropstout and, since the drummer is taking a period off in Japan (I doubt he will ever come back), I'm actually working solo, under the influence of Billy Bragg. You can check out the embryo of this solo project at www.myspace.com/billiemacgowan . I'm really keen on reading (Roddy Doyle, Jonathan Coe, Irvine Welsh, Tim Bradford, Nick Hornby among my choices), watching fillums and listening to music (the Clash, Billy Bragg, good punk music, two-tone ska, Motown, Northern soul, a bit of electronic music and a load of other stuff). I love British cinema (Robert Carlyle is probably my favourite actor) and I came in touch with Shane's work through This is England, which I loved, having been a skinhead in my teens. Recently I decided to buy his DVD-ography down from Amazon, so I was able to see TwentyfourSeven and Once Upon a Time in the Midlands, as well as Three Tears for Jimmy Prophet. The other DVD's I have yet to watch, but I'm really looking forward to it.

Bonjourno, Billie! You've got great taste in music... I hope you enjoy A Room For Romeo Brass and Dead Man's Shoes when you get to see them -- I certainly did.

Welcome to the forums bud. I'm hoping to go to Italy next year. My girlfriend was born there... although she's not Italian.

Everyone here envies you! and don't forget the shorts, I'm bleedin' curious about them as well (I searched for DVD's with special content ) ah, really? where was she born? my sister used to live in Leicester, and I went there coupla times. I even went to Nottingham (which I really enjoyed), as she was working at a museum there. It was her to tell me to look for This Is England (though I listen to Virgin Radio UK and I had heard the ads)...

So long as you got what I meant! ;D (Kirsty is one of my favorites, by the way -- I discovered her through "Fairytale of New York.")

Oh, yeah -- "Greetings To The New Brunette," "Sexuality," "Darling Let's Have Another Baby," and the duet version of "A New England" on What Do Pretty Girls Do (her BBC recordings) are great stuff.
