Hey, not posted too many times but have been around for a while.
I, like (I guess) most of you are, or at one time have been, am a wannabe film maker. I live near the East coast in Lincolnshire, an area that has been featured in Shane's films many times. I'm looking to get some projects going, the problem I have is my inability to write anything decent.
What I'm asking for is if anyone is interested in collaborating, any writers out there who think they could write a decent short set along the East coast? Think beaches, dead and abandoned sea side towns during the winter, some of these places literally turn into ghost towns. Any cinematographers wanting to gain experience, actors who are localish, masseuses who want to rub my back or anyone else, let me know!
Interested in hearing what kind of response I get, talk soon...

Hi Gary, if you can get yourself to Anderby Creek tomorrow you can watch a feature film being made first-hand. Failing that, be at the large car park at the far end of South Parade in Skegness any time on Monday or Tuesday.
I can also tell you about a seperate short film written specifically for a very special place on that coast - the 20 minute story links a beached whale to a soldier captured in Iraq and the futile rescue attempts to save both.

I, too, am intrigued. Could possibly get to Skeggy on Monday. And Gary, I'm originally from South Lincs but frequently visit Chapel Point and Skegness for a weekend. Awesome scenery around there.

I'm originally from just a few miles down the A52 from Skegness, but now live in Louth which is not too far from Cleethorpes.
Yea theres some good locations for a film, especially if you know the area. I want to do something about a sea side town out of season, some of these places just close down, they turn into ghost towns, everythings boarded up, the mass of caravan sites are empty. Alot of people have no choice but to sign on for 3-4 months as there is just no jobs.

We're going until 8pm tomorrow (Monday). If you know where McDonalds is, you can't miss us!
Perhaps see you there. If you're into film, I'm sure it'll be worth popping along to say hello.

Yea, think I will pop down. No doubt you will have a big crowd seeing as you are in the middle of grand parade.
I went to Anderby Creek yesterday and did some film for a short yesterday, only a little project with my girlfriend in. Really nice location.

Went down earlier, drove down to the car park at the end of South Parade and saw all your trailers and catering vans. Went down the car park down the side of the pier arcade, you was filming outside the Las Vegas arcade, we sat like perverted doggers in the car watching for a while, everyone looked busy and mixed with the fact I have no balls we didn't come over.
Treated the girlfriend to a pizza hut like the swarve romantic I am, then passed through town again, you had moved to the alley way down the side of Rhinos nightclub. It was about 7:30, again we stood watching, (the lanky 22 yr old about 2 weeks overdue a haircut with the short... I mean petite girlfriend.) We didnt come over again, didnt know what you looked like and couldnt see anyone who looked like a Rich, but bearing in mind the only other person I've known called Rich was a 4 year old boy with a ever present strand of snot hanging from his nose I was never likely to see one.
Hope your shoot went well, look forward to hearing what you have to say about it.

Doh! I was a bit busy down the alley but was looking out for you when I could. You should have asked someone for me, was expecting you to come down and watch the action on the monitor, chat about things. I assure you that really doesn't take balls, we had quite a few people chatting about what we were doing, which is precisely what was keeping me busy.
We're on South Parade all day tomorrow, possibly back on the alley in the evening, depending on how we get on. 6.30pm finish which will be fairly closely adhered to.
If you do come down please do let yourself be known this time, you are part of my remit to involve local people so your participation is more or less essential - ask anyone you see for the locations bloke and I will magically appear.. but I am not 4 years old and do not have snot.

Well today is last chance Lincolnshire - Winthorpe Avenue and then possibly Chapel Point at around 4.30 - I say possibly because I suspect we may end up staying put, moving the "sea wall" scenes from Chapel to the beach at Winthorpe to save a big unit move.

Right, I will definatly be coming today, couldn't make it yesterday because of work and by the time I would of got there you would be finishing. I take it by half 4 you mean your moving locations at half 4 and not finishing at half 4. I'm in my scruffs as I'm working on site today, chucking it down at the moment, hope you dont get rained off.

Hey, went down to Chapel Point today, met up with Rich. Thank you so much Rich, it was very kind of you to invite me down, shame about my impecable timing... "Thats a rap" was called as we approached the crew filming. Bugger! Doesn't matter though, still had a good time, Rich was chatty and made me feel very welcome, showed me to where they filmed Romeo Brass and some shots of locations for "A Boy Called Dad" the film they were filming. Big thank you again.
Anyway... to get this topic back on track, is anyone intrested in collaborating and getting a small project going? Let me know if you do.
