Newbie here!! Only got into Shanes films through being a Sun House/Gavin Clarke fan & now I'm both. Watched Somers Town last night & loved it. Shane is a genius & Gavin did him proud as always.
Still chuckling to myself about the film, real feel good film after DMS!

Ey up. Something about me: I love oatcakes, me. Sadly I'm an expat, so I have to make them myself, or coerce visitors to bring a dozen packs. Discovering Shane Meadows' films have been the sole good thing to happen to me in the past six months.

Hi I live in Sweden, absolutely adore Shane's films (shorts and features). I discovered this place after watching Le Donk And Scor-Zay-Zee today, and looking around for somewhere to read up a little about it and the short films that lead up to it. Great to see that Shane is actually here, since he always comes across as such a hands on guy. I'm 37 and live in Malmo, make music, collect Criterion DVD's (I'm involved in a Criterion forum), enjoy photography blah blah blah. Looking forward to reading through the threads here over the next few months and seeing what info I can glean about Shane, and seeing if there is anything I can add. : )

Ayup me ducks.
Just watched the second TIE86. Gotta say that Nottingham's adopted son has really done a great job with this. I don't want this series to end. I loved watching C4's 'Shameless' but Shane has produced an equally brilliant series but with believable characters that I can identify with. I am a Nottingham lad, born n bred. I claim to be a late3 70's Punk that abhors much about the 80's. This brilliant film making by Shane is making me realise what I missed. Ok, I'm done waffling here. I could talk a glass eye to sleep! Tara me ducks.

Hello all,
Just recently watched This Is England before watching This Is England '86 and I have to say I was blown away by all of it.
I think I can now class Shane Meadows as my favourite director and I'll defo be purchasing more of his work in the near future!
