Cor blimey! That was quick, January is here already!
Don't forget that the DVD and Blu-Ray of Somers Town is released on the 12th of January!
Hopefully I will have a mini competition to celebrate. If all goes to plan I will have a copy of the DVD and a copy of the soundtrack to give away!

Does the Blu-Pay copy have any different extras? The Blu-Ray has the same stuff on it. I was just reading on some DVD forum that it is delayed until the 26th of January! For crying out loud... although both Amazon and Play say the 12th.

Blu-ray's the same and I was impressed with that too - god bless Optimum's design team! Watched some of the extras last night - very illuminating makes a change from all the PR fluff you get on most other DVD releases. Checked out the print - looks stunning in HD, I must say.

Got round to watching the Tribeca film fest talk with Shane and Paul Fraser last night. I thought it would be full of stuff I'd heard before because, in making this site I became a tremendous Meadows geek by default as I discovered as much info for the site as possible.
Anyway, there's so much stuff in the hour long talk, it's worth the asking price of the DVD on its own! Loads of info and loads of fun!
Really interesting to hear that in the original script of Romeo Brass, there was no single Morrell character, it was a gang of 8 or 9 older lads that Romeo and Gavin get involved with.
Paul Fraser disses up One Foot In The Grave though. I won't have that! ;D

Purchased the DVD from a Mr J Sainsbury by a carpark for £12 on Friday and watched it this morning.
I really enjoyed the Tribeca talk. Very inspirational and motivating. Would've like it to have flowed uninterrupted though without the time consuming cut-aways to captioned questions. Same with the interviews. Amusing that Paul Fraser described One Foot In The Grave as rubbish yet derived inspiration and influence from it.
No one appears to be missing a directors commentary. I don't appear to be either. I thought I would. Would've been nice of course but I'm not feeling like I'm missing out terribly.

Has anyone else noticed the error in the blurb on the back of the DVD? It says "... and Paul Fraser the writer of Dead Man's Shoes and A Room For Romeo Brass"
But Shane and Paddy wrote DMS didn't they?! Having said that though... I've just checked IMDb and it says Paul Fraser did "Additional Material" ...didn't know that.... Still, technically not written by him is it?
Oh well, I'm not gonna lose sleep over it.
