Well, I have to say we loved Le Donk. What a scream they must have had to make that. Pissed my self. I know a Nicolas, I think we all do. Due to work commitments I didnt get chance to wedge my backside in the cinema seats in The Cornerhouse in town for a viewing, such is life, so Mrs Almighty bought me the DVD for a quiet night in. It didnt dissappoint.
In fact Id go so far as saying I didnt see a need for an extras section on the DVD. I would have included all of them in the original score as one continuum!!
Having said that, 'Collecting the rent' was a short film in itself.
Partridge-esque, (hope I havent pissed anybody off saying that) but in that realm, but its priceless stuff....
Not a regular on here so apologies if put in wrong thread, already discussed elsewhere.
But ta all the same, cheered my Autumn up anyhow. Le Donk should have his own series now frankly...

Well, despite my still not having the Sheffield Q & A with Paddy, Shane and WARP producer Mark Herbert online yet, I have been advertising the DVD release on my Facebook status update, and a few mates have bought it as a result. One of them runs a superb music blog called Irk The Purists and posted this a couple of days back: "After talking to George at your party, we rented This Is England, and we liked it so much that we saw Somers Town the other week. So we have popped our Meadows cherry, and will look forward to Le Donk." Popped our Meadows cherry, LOL

I'll have to check the mount out when I go into the office. All I can remember without looking is that it came from a guy who built them in Israel.... That would be brilliant, I've been after a decent shoulder mount for my Z5 for a while so any reccomendations are great as there is a lot of rubbish out there ;D

Great news with the 'Special Directors Cut Edition' DVD next year. I was a bit miffed by the extras since there wasn't a Shane & Paddy audio com, and the lack of Le Donk related shorts. But hopefully I'll be able to hang on until a better versions slips out next year.

A Shane and Paddy project without a commentary is almost criminal! ;D Ages ago I proposed the idea of doing a commentary with Paddy in character as Le Donk and Shane as himself. I had recently revisited the This Is Spinal Tap commentary which has the actors in character. It works brilliantly, and Le Donk is ideal for a similar commentary track because the documentary was 'real', so the commentary should be similarly 'real'.

Dave, I remember the audio com on the last couple of series of Alan Partridge using the same idea. I'd love them to do it, but I'd want it to be secondary to a 'real' one with the two of them. Romeo Brass is still the best audio com ever, it's up there with Carpenter and Russell on The Thing.

Finally, I've seen it! Great stuff. Le Donk and Scor-zay-zee are both brilliant characters....would be excellent if they re-appeared somewhere, sometime down the line. PS. Belatedly, the animations great Bill
