If you're one of those people that steers well clear of the front page of this site and just heads straight for the forum, then you may have missed my announcement about this lovely Q&A video. This is the Q&A we did at the Watershed in Bristol on the 8th of October with Paddy and Scorz. I did a live 2 camera edit of the event using two ceiling mounted, remotely controlled cameras. Editing live is quite an experience! Bad edit decisions are preserved for all to see and there's naff all you can do about it. Despite the tense nature of the live edit, I think I did pretty well! But then I would say that, so you can judge for yourselves by watching the 26 minute video on the Watershed's Dshed website. Someone has snuck in a cheeky jump-cut at the beginning, but from there on in, it's my 'as it happened' edit! NEW LINK: www.dshed.net/le-donk-scor-zay-zeeNow a FLASH video, so no quicktime needed! Always a bonus! ;D Some great little anecdotes to be had in there! Scorz's white top was playing havoc with the exposure! ;D

That was good! I didn't notice that it was edited live or anything. The picture was a bit mashed up at the beginning, digital gremlins or something, but I could still hear it OK.

Live edit feedback most welcome! ;D I didn't notice until after the event that the cameras were not properly colour-balanced! Doh! That was someone else's maintenance job! The digital mess is a connection/buffering issue. Might be when our servers at work are busy.

I'll watch yours tomorrow morning Dave got to cook now.
I've still got computer problems, the new PC doesn't arrive till Saturday, but I've managed to get the Sheff Q & A into shape despite my PC having a busted graphics card and the screen going on and off every 5 seconds (rolls eyes).
Anyway I was wondering if anyone had any advice where to upload it? It's 45 minutes and I don't want to break it into sections for YouTube. I was thinking about DailyMotion as a motionmaker but the small print and licensing permissions for stuff on there look a bit crazy and I'm wary. Anyone got any ideas where the best place to upload it is? It's 675MB.

Google video is still unlimited isn't it? Google video isn't accepting uploads any more. Don't know what I'll do...I may just go with MotionMakers. I'll come back on here with a link once it's up anyway although if I go with MotionMakers they have to accept you into their programme first which means going in a queue.. Just watched yours Dave and it's great. I love the live edit and the quality is brilliant. It's much more of a formal Q & A than Sheffield was, which was more of a party really, LOL Interesting what Paddy said about Shane having to fight for every film and Le Donk being made without interference - and yet it could turn out to outshine his already outstanding work. Just goes to show. As Paddy says, they had fun with it and that's the bottom line. Creative heights are achieved by climbing for joy; money shouldn't even be an issue. Interesting too that Paddy is about to direct his first feature film and talks about wanting to do it all rather than just stick to acting. I know what he means. We're not here for long. May as well sample as much as possible (creatively speaking I mean!) My favourite quotes from the Q & A were: Paddy (on Shane) - "He finds it hilarious seeing how ridiculous he can make me look." and Scorz - "I was thinking about death to stop laughing." What a great quote! LOL Can you imagine having that as your epitaph on your tombstone, ha ha ha! Nice one Dave, dancing banana!

Hey Dave, just watched it. Great edit, didn't really take notice to it, which basically means its good! Really interesting stuff in there, especially knowing that some bits were real and unplanned. A real eye opener! Is this on the DVD? If not, it should be in the special edition.

I know someone at Warp saw it and said they really liked the edit! I think they were just checking it for clearance to allow it on the web though. Scoz's white top was playing havoc with the exposure! haha

...after three months of pretty much non stop computer problems, I've fitted a whacking great huge new hard drive and have joined VimeoPro so finally I've put the Sheffield Q & A online - I'm sure it's elsewhere as well, but anyway, for what it's worth, this is the Q & A shot from the front row, handheld, one long 45 minute take with a bit of jelly wobble arm in the middle and a short intro by me on my webcam at the beginning to introduce it. You know, like I was presenting The Culture Show or something.
