I'm not entirely sure of the situation at the moment, but the rights to Smalltime are owned by some company or other. Warp films I think have re-aquired them now, and a DVD release is planned for the future (distant maybe, but let's hope not).

I sold my copy on ebay for £35 quid. Thought it was a bit much but who's gonna turn that down. Gutted though cos I sold it to buy the official release of the DVD which then turned out to be a myth So now I'm big time small timeless. Although I had a secret back-up copy for an emergency situation.

The bummer is that I have the means to create DVD's from the master, but am bound by ancient laws preventing me from doing it for the next 10 years.
Warp are negotiating 'buying it back' at the moment and we still look good for a release that will coincide with TIE (April 2007)!

I'm sure they will, if VHS copies are going for £35 then there is profit to be made, people want to buy it. TIE and Smalltime in April though that'll be great.
My bid still stands at £10!

I still have a Channel4 taped version as I was just lucky enough to have a love for short films at the time, and I was so lucky to go fishing and catch those two lovely gems. And that's where the love started.
Good luck with the DVD version. I hope it comes out soon.
Pull your fingers out WARP!!

I was foolish enough to loan my 'taped off channel 4' versions of smalltime and where's the money to somebody about five years ago-never did get it back . The VHS copies are ridiculously expensive. Can't wait for the DVD. It's a long time since I watched it granted, but still think it's Shane's funniest film.

finally managed to watch wheres the money... and smalltime a coupla weeks ago when my gaffer at work brought it in for me (he had taped it off the telly, it was part of the "gangsters" series on channel 4 from about 1998) im loving the dancing scenes and mad terry the nanny... both quality films though,as i've come to expect from shane.the only full lenthg i havent seen yet is "once upon a time..." which i will be watching before the release of this is england.
