;D Hi everyone. I'm Natasha (Tash for short), and I've been a fan for years, but amazingly enough, it only occurred to me now to go find a Shane Meadows lounge. I'm really bad with introductions (I'm much better at just falling in with conversations) but here goes: I'm half Italian, half Belgian (which means I'm half wild, half sane). I was born in Cape Town, South Africa, but now live in Stockholm, Sweden. It appears Swedes still pillage villages and make off with the women. I am a pretty serious movie, music and book/graphic novel nerd, and if you ask me if have impeccable taste. If you ask anyone else, they might either agree or announce that I'm the Queen of Bad Taste. ;D So apart from movies, music and books, I love cooking, cleaning (yes, you read right), animals, world war II flying machines, zombies, theremins, and exploding heads. I'm also rather heavily addicted to obscene amounts of chili. I have two rather silly jobs, two rather awesome cats, a sweetheart for a boyfriend and a warped sense of humour. Right, that's about as good a job as I can do as far as introductions go, the rest you'll learn along the way. ;D

Hello and welcome to you!
That's got to be one of the most entertaining introductions we've seen on the forum!
Some may say the queen of bad taste... and I would imagine that could also refer to a love of the film Bad Taste too if your liking for exploding heads and zombies are anything to go by. No exploding heads in Bad Taste though as far as I remember, just an alien eating brains out of the top of someone's head with a spoon!

Thanks! ;D And I do love Bad Taste, even though there are no exploding heads!! There have on occasion been movies I'd be watching with my boyfriend and after groaning that it was bad cheese there's be an exploding head, and then it's aaaaallll ok again. Hahahaha! I have to tell you, even though I loved Hot Fuzz, I WORSHIPPED it after a rather unexpected exploding head scene. I mean, the elements were already awesome, but that just took it that one step further into godliness. Or ungodliness. I'm not sure which. ;D I have special soft spots for those old 70's Italian gory flicks, and giallos by Argento. I also love Marmite. This freaks all Swedes out except for one, who tasted it and said it was "interesting": Everybody else thinks it's Satan (which incidentally is my name backwards...aaaahhhh....Satan!). I'm pretty sure one fine evening when I'm a little tipsy on red wine, I'll come in here and tell you all I love you. I'm an affectionate inebriated person. Just a little headsup there.

I like a bit of death metal... well, the only bands I really know about and listen to are Cannibal Corpse, The Red Chord, and The Black Dahlia Murder

Entombed Let's see...they're sort of...seminal I guess, but there's wide, WIDE discussion about what's the best material to hear from them. Later stuff has large doses of rock 'n roll in their death, but early stuff is death death. I think they pretty much have poo on their myspace page. But what the hell, try it anyway (or drop me a PM and I'll send you a link to some of the good stuff! ;D) www.myspace.com/serpentsaintsI have a sort of project going with one of England's death dudes (we both share a love for a certain thing and decided we might have to try a project...) but the guy's so busy that I wonder if it will ever materialise. I guess I'm also Queen of the Almost Project.

Woah! haha I had one of their albums back in the 90s.... Wolverine Blues of course! That was a classic track! Oh that's one of my favourites. People still bitch that they went in that direction, but I think it's a rather unique one. Especially at the time. Say, on my way to work, I saw David from Dismember cleaning the subway stairs, but I was in too much of a hurry to say hello, and he didn't see me either....I suppose I should have stopped, but I'm meticulously on time. You know Dismember'sstuff as well?? I bet you'd love Scanners. I'm so busted! ;D I watched "Gamer" last night...and lo, there was an exploding head. And like clockwork, my boyfriend muttered "...exploding head..." ;D

Good day to you Tash! I too love a good exploding head, or indeed any body parts being chopped off and flying about. It makes me laugh. In movies of course. Not in ACTUAL life. WELCOME!
