Hellooo! I'm redderz and I'm from the East Midlands! Rutland to be precise - England's smallest county. (Waiting for the choruses of "Uh... where?"  ) Some of you may know me from Paddy Considine's old forum which has now been closed down.  I thought it would be a good idea to transfer over to here so I can keep up with you all! Take care, and I hope to be posting around soon! |

I dunno way Gareth couldn't just let the forum bubble away at it's own pace. Ah well. This is just as friendly a place as Paddy's was.

Hello Redderz! Welcome ye! That's a bit sad that Paddy's forum has shut down! I can't understand it really. I haven't visited that forum for a while myself.... so I guess I'm part of the problem!  My excuse is I have this one to keep an eye on, along with all the little tinkers that post on it too! What was the final reason for the forum closure then? I read the debate about it a while ago where it nearly closed down... the reasons seemed a bit vague to me. At the time I remember saying that the forum can be the heart of a website, no matter how few people post on it. There are so many lurkers that never get involved but like to read the posts (hello lurkers!), plus regular visitors to a forum keep the main site alive too. I'm sure visits to Paddy's site will drop a bit now (if it's still there at all! I haven't looked yet!). Plus, the forum of a website can give it a living personality. Without one, a site can feel a bit faceless. Just my opinion. |

Thank you everyone! So good to see so many familiar faces! Dave, I'm not sure what the exact reason was! Gareth decided not to close it and we were all happy, but then the other week he changed his mind again and just shut it down with only a couple of days warning! I think the site is still there, just the forum is gone. It was our little corner of the internet! *sniff* I agree with you about forums too. I met some great people on there. Ah well, I'm sure I can find plenty of other people and new things to talk about on here too. |

Hi everyone. I'm Michelle and I too have been chucked off the Paddy forum!  It's a bit bewildering as to the reasons for the shut down and a tad upsetting that it was closed before the agreed day,but there you go! Dave,it's on maintenance mode,does that mean it can be re-opened should Gareth change his mind? Looking forward to sharing the odd thought with you fine people. Wasn't there some talk last time it nearly shut down about keeping the forum open so people can read it, but not post on it? |

Ay up mush! Yeah it was a bit sudden. Did Gareth say he was closing it down on a certain day then did so sooner then? Open it back up mate and let it do its own thing. I was only really a snooper there but to others it was more important.
Just got up to go for a pee, peeked out the window, and we're snowed in! It's three inches and a blizzard out there at the mo. I've got all excited so will go back to bed in a bit. Love snow, me ;D

Dave,there was an agreement that the forum would stay open no matter what,then all of a sudden we were told that the trial period wasn't working and it would after all close down,even though people were still posting! Oh well! I get the feeling it wasn't Gareths idea tho. Chromebaby,I'm fed up with snow,I am! I like to be able to get around unencumbered!!  |
