There are a lot of jokes in TIE '86 but Flip (Perry Fitzpatrick) the biker gang leader pulls off the best! i mean the bit in episode 1 where you first see him and his gang i almost pissed myself laughing when he says "GINGE!" he kind of reminds me of sombody i used to hang around with!! haha! pure meadows gold! i hope to see at least one more scene with him in on EP4 and maybe if shane makes TIE '90 he will be in it also ;D keep em' coming m8! Flip could easily have a series to himself. He's a bit of scene stealer. I've known people like that too. They usually see sense eventually.
You've got the name right, sleezen. And welcome to ze forum.

It's crazy how Shane Meadows is able to put a scene from The Inbetweeners in the middle of all the heavy drama AND PULL IT OFF!. Perfect balance of conflict and comedy. I've seen people complain about having such light hearted scenes side by side with ones like Shaun sleeping in the toilet and Lol's decline, but life is like that, especially the British. We laugh through all the sh*t to deal with it. It's completely natural and I'm glad they managed to capture it so well.

The series is way more gang based than the film was and the whole cast really get a chance to shine. It's just that LOl's story happens to be the most catalytic at that point in time. Who knows, in TIE 90, it may be Cynth, Milky or one of the new Charactors like Flip or Chrissy.

Higgy: "Yeh mate!, Y'know what even wierder though?" Flip: "Whats that?" Higgy: "Who'd sit in that chair?" Flip: "........Its ridiculous!" Pure genious! Attachments:

Also for anybody that has seen a Clockwork Orange, you might recognise a similarity between the biker fight scene in tie '86 and the fight between billy boy and alex with his droogs! listen to the police siren near the end! ;D

I have to confess I'm not a fan of the comedy in England '86, but this scene had me howling. The two best bits from this were "Am gonna count down from thurteen!" and the two guys doing the 'windmill' style punching - just like the shit fights you remember from school

Hey Sleezen... did you get my personal message? (check the top right of the forum)
Please try and use the MODIFY option to add to your last post instead of replying to yourself. It's not a big deal at all, but it keeps things manageable.
I love Flip too. Not too OTT at all for me.
"... head to toe in fucking ginger!"

"Now listen. Currently you are all in the danger zone. But, I'm only 'ere to break the ginger's jaw, so if you step away I will let you all live." This scene was very funny, as I've said, but does anyone else think it'd have carried more impact if Harvey's 'out of the blue' punch had knocked him clean out? It could even have been done as a nod to Snatch, with the Stranglers' Golden Brown kicking in just afterwards And who's that at the 1.41 mark? Why it's Combo bricking it

See, I think it was funnier that Harvey's punch didn't even faze him. The idea of Flip being a pure bully who'd shit himself at bigger boys than Shaun or get easily knocked out would be too obvious, I think. I love that he talks like an absolute dickhead and is genuinely harder than Shaun's gang.
