Hey duckies, check this out, just bumped into this feature in Total film: www.totalfilm.com/features/15-cool-obscure-movie-t-shirtsSo, Dead man's shoes tops Total Film's poll for the coolest obscure movie T-shirt's?... Obscure?...God will forgive them....I can live with that. I could better that. Give me a spray can and a job load of white T-shirts and I'd be topping that poll with my hand-made "Cheyne Stoking ™" T-shirts...Now that's what I call obscure.

Thats a bloody good idea Morell.
The poll topping t shirt isn't bad but I think better and more obscure t shirts can be created, as you've suggested. I've just had a bash on Photoshop and whipped up a crude attempt but I can't post it because it needs more work. Bit of a perfectionist you see. It's depicts an empty pot noodle carton with Soz's Cup Noodle replacing the usual Pot Noodle sign and written above and beneath the carton i thought something like 'If you wash em out' (above) 'They could be yer cup's couldn't they'.
I'm sure someone could think of something better and wittier without abusing the actual quote from the film as I've undoubtedly done.
Another possibility could be an outline of an open palm of a hand with a finger pointing into it with the words 'You're there mate'. I think this would look pretty damn good.
Maybe even the symbol spray painted on the back of Gypsy John's expensive suit.
Good spot anyhow, I always appreciate a good t shirt.

How's about a mini obscure Dead Mans T-shirt comp between us? Perhaps with examples. Maybe Shane/Paddy or Warp could create the best one for real. Here's mine:

Good stuff Morell and good idea. I've thought of doing Meadows themed t-shirts that Dave could sell on here to raise funds for maintaining the site. The idea for a competion's good but it can be like herding cats here as Dave found out with the TIE fan commentary. We're an independent minded bunch. I'm inspired to do a design and will submit one soon. So there! ;D

I've just thrown one together but I seem to be rather inept at putting an image on this forum. If an image doesn't appear below this inane rambling don't laugh too hard. Attachments:

Excellent t shirt it must be said. Cheers for the link too, tis right up my street. Though I am puzzled as to why I haven't come across the site before, especially as I'm always scouring the net for t shirts and the site owners, much like myself, are from the North West. Nevermind I've found them now. Very interesting pics of the filming that took place for Awaydays, as I often pass through that area. I'm yet to see the film but I'll be keeping an eye out for it. Thanks again.

Shameless self promotion Delarge! yours is great but really literal, can't be said to be obscure, guess that's why you weren't number 1.

I would just like to say that you should all be wary! Some T-shirt companies seem to nick designs from all over the place, so they probably wouldn't think twice about pilfering your ideas.
Those are great designs Morrell/Gareth.

Top T-shirt, very subtle to the untrained eye, but would definetly start a conversation with a Meadows fan in passing.
I was in a hospital waiting room a while back (baby scan with the missis) anyway a guy was sat across from me and was wearing a slaughtered Lamb pub sign on a T-Shirt and i recognised it immediatly from the film and had to say to him. Got a respect nod back from him. Guess what film it was from you buffs out there, and see if your knowledge is as good as mine.

Too easy Paul, it's from An America Werewolf in London.
In fact without even cheating one iota I can tell you that the most likely place to buy the Slaughtered Lamb tee would be from LastExittoNowhere. I think they're a tad expensive myself but I've always fancied their Dapper Dan tee from O Brother Where Art Thou.

I work right next to the big Forbidden Planet in covent Garden and they must have a deal with Last Exit as they are all in there. I like the Tyrel corp and the Thorn industries one. Anyone with any more Shane one's? I recall putting my weetabeet one on here a long long time ago. I got one made for myself actually: Any ideas where that's from Shane fans? Spoiler Alert:Here's one for the fans of Dallas: The "I killed Mick" T-shirt. I've got another one brewing, stay tuned.
