Hi everyone am new to the site. I got bitten by the Shane Meadows bug a while back from This is England. Wanted to learn more and then This is England hit the scene. Just bought A Room for Romeo Brass too and am looking forward to watching other previous films and new films to come. Welcome aboard, micren!  |

Thanks for getting back Jill, very nice of you. My mum lived very near to the school, not far down the road at all, though I cannot remember which one of the two roads you mentioned this one is. Her name is Karen Ball now, though I forget her name at the time because of past marriage and me not being born. Her and her friend Jacquie used to knock about the area I think. I can ask my mum which flat she lived in when I next talk to her, as I've forgotten. It was a lovely walk with her though, a real trip down memory lane for her, and even I forgot how much I liked the city. I'm originally from Draycott near Long Eaton if you know of it, but went to school near Nottingham, college in Nottingham (Castle College and New College Notingham), and did my sign language there. My family are all from Notts and have lived there all their lives nearly. I'm hoping to return to the area at some point to do work experience at the Deaf Club on Forest Road West, if I can get it. Thank you for replying again, and if you did know a Karen from the area, it may well have been her!
By the way, do you think it would be a good idea to have a Shane Meadows film night at Bristol Uni? Do you think this would go down well too? It's always been my ambition to put on a director themed night, so I could put this forward as a suggestion if all goes well with the horror one. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this, but this isn't urgent. Thanks again, and did you manage to get to Goose Fair?
