Episode one of '88 has finished editing this week. Very happy!
I'm moving onto the last 2 eps now and hoping to do a few little pickups with the cast over the coming weeks though it is proving a right pain in the arse to get them back together. Since 86 came out, they have all got loads of work the selfish shits and are no longer at my beckon call. It's like trying to get the cast of seinfeld back together!
Anyhoo, I think C4 have set an approx date for transmission in the week around the 14th december over 3 consecutive nights (ie - tues/weds/thurs). Which I'm thrilled about on two counts. One, that its not the week before xmas where we would get swallowed up by 'what the grunch licked for xmas' and 'eastenders in a manger'. two that they will be shown back to back rather than having to wait a week. The story is told over 3 days so showing it in the same timeframe makes perfect sense.
Should be a good alternative to the fluffy santa stuff!

I can't wait for this. I'll be settled in my new house by then and I can enjoy the whole thing on the big TV that I'm trying to persuade my wife to buy Good luck with the rest of the editing.

Are there still plans for a mini-theatre release?

Thanks for the update Shane.
Three consecutive nights will be great!
I'm now off to spread the word on Twitter.

V. much looking fwd to TIE88! Can't believe the cast won't snap to attention when you call?! Other commitments be damned, they should be paying you maximum raspekt! Well...unless they've got something more important to do, you know, like a commercial for some kind of lite beer, or hanging out in town or something P.S. Saw Paddy C's TYRANNOSAUR at our local film fest a cpl of weeks back, very cool also. To me, it was reminiscent of much your work (social realist cinema in a very localised setting) but minus the whimsical aspect you almost always have which I find refreshing in an often bleak genre. Peter Mullan and Olivia Colman were both fantastic.

Hello Shane,
I've just sent you an email about it. Trouble is, I'm not sure if that email address is still valid. If you don't receive my email, then I guess it isn't! haha Although check your spam. I'm a well known spam artist! ;D

Fingers crossed the girls have a better time of it in '88. Can Trev say much more words this time too? ;D

3 days straight will be amazing, waiting 24hrs is going to be hard enough
