Nothing that exciting, but I recently discovered a really good bit of totally free software for converting videos from one format to another.

I think it is PC only though.
As well as what you would expect it to do it can also;
Convert YouTube videos to format of your choice.
Create a DVD from clips of your choice.
Create a photo slide show (with or without music)
Rip DVDs
Edit, crop, and resize videos.
Nothing gobsmacking, but it is totally free and works better than loads of purchasable software!
The user interface is clearly designed for the more novice user, but dig deeper and there are plenty more advanced options.
