Yeah, I think it turned out much better than we were expecting and that last five or six minutes is great

Sheeeeeeeeeeit I forgot about this. I downloaded it and it's been on my computer all this time, unlistened to. I'll give it a razz in the next few days hopefully.

Just moved this old thread into the main This Is England section. I can't now for the life of me remember why I thought it would be a good idea to hide this away in it's own sub-board which was barely noticed. I've been testing the nice free 5GB of storage you get with Google Drive recently, so have been uploading a few things. I have new link to get the fan commentary from Google Drive now: docs.google.com/open?id=0B801ROAvGWGqTDBIcHhJTXJqTG8You do get a warning saying that Google couldn't before a virus scan, but don't panic, all is fine (just think of all the times you have downloaded stuff and it hasn't even informed you that your file has not been scanned! ;D ). Tell you what I had totally forgotten about the fan commentary... the fact that Tank Bullock is on it.... and getting right riled up in the process!! ;D

I guess I'm a few years late here but I've just listened to the commentary. In fact, I'm a few years late to the forum and I guess I'm even pretty late to Shane's work but I'm pretty young so forgive me.
I really enjoyed it, great to hear everyone's views and hear the voices of people behind some of the users of the forum. It was actually quite sad listening to it though as its now obvious that most of the top posters in this forum haven't been seen online for years! What happened? It seems hardly anyone logs onto here now. Is it because Shane hasn't released a film in a while or have the days of forums being popular just died now thanks to the Facebook and Twitter craze? It's sad anyways.

Glad people are still finding this and giving it a listen. You have a point there about Facebook and Twitter etc.... I'm pretty sure I recall this forum existing in the days pre-Facebook! Imagine that! Those days did exist! haha

Bloody hell! Facebook may be apparently stronger but the Meadows forum has reigned for longer!

Not sure Aaron. There was a very strong and active (or in Ryd's words 'cult') following on here a few years back which-paradoxically-dropped off around the same time that TiE TV appeared and the forum membership actually grew massively. I think it is probably more a reflection of the way internet forums generally have declined as Facebook and Twitter have grown though...shame.

A lot of the old regular members are now very busy filmmakers, which is great to see. Google: Tom Wilton, Neil Rolland, Patrick Coyle, Darren Barber.... list goes on, they're all doing great things. We were heavily inspired by Shane and used this forum to share our work. I would argue at one point it was the best place on the internet to share independent films at one point! I actually wanted to make a doco about us all at one point. I believe Neil even pitched it for funding! It is a shame that it isn't as busy now. I would say it is to do with Facebook & Twitter, I definitely frequent those sites more often now. But its always nice to return to the Meadows Forum! I also think once there's some more films it'll get busy again. Perhaps the golden age is over though? I hope not! I certainly don't post as much as I used to, but I know I will always return! Certainly the nicest, most humble, film forum on the internet. Long live the Meadows Maniacs! ;D

Thanks for that info! It's great to be a part of it even if I missed the golden days! Amen, long life Meadows maniacs!
Aaron.
