You know in Trainspotting when there all in the room at the end and renton goes to the mirror.. well on the sink is a bottle of buckfast. Its basically teenagers out on the streets drinking, its there preffered drink if you know what I mean. Its like a tonic wine. Its lovely and gets you pissed nice.

Theres always a number on the bottle and me and my mates always grab a bottle out the bag hoping to get the best number, I've been coming out lucky... but I think its a placebo cause it can taste like shit and have a great number.

Buckfast or "Buckie" as its better known is a Tonic wine made by Benedictine Monks at the Buckfast Abbey in Deven, England. Its the drink of choice for NEDS in Scotland (also known as Chavs, Pikeys etc.) I think all Scots people have tasted it though as teenages often drink it cos its pretty mind blowing.

My manager at a clothes shop I worked at drank it and he told me that there is a number printer in on the glass of the Buckfast bottle (just below the label.) The numers run from 1-30. 1 being the best tasting Buckfast, as it is the oldest and 30 being the worst. I thought he was talking shit until I went to my local off-licence and looked like a right bum, taking all the bottles off the shelf and finding that some had the same number and some different and never higher than 30!

I think Buckfast tastes like "Wappa Bars" but people dont seem to remember what they were either.

Buckfast isn't outstanding, but it's alright. I can't remember if it taste a bit like orange juice mixed with champange or something!?
