Whilst at the Mrs's in laws farm yesterday, We stumbled across a large box full of VHS, Beta SP and various other antique formats. I was actually in a major hurry to get the train to Smokey, but I stumbled across two films on VHS, that I feared I had lost forever. One is 'Torino, torino' which I shot on VHS/C at the Torino Film Festival in 1996. A nice little video diary of me and my then producer (Dominic Dillon) as we pratted around the city. And an even rarer little find which is another video diary of Myself and Paul Fraser in Southern Ireland back in 1997. We were there to write 'birdhill' ( A western) but came away with the idea for romeo brass.
I only had a very quick look, but both films appear to be intact and I'm now desperate to transfer them into the digital domain and crack into the rest of the box. The only other thing missing now is some footage of Me and Fraser at the sundance film festival in 1998 which I don't think was ever edited. Plus I have a whole short film yet to be edited from 2000 about a local scarecrow festival. can't wait to get some time off in the winter and start assembling this Gargantua back-cat.
I could do with going off me legs for a year or two, so I can get me past in order. I would love you guys to see the 20 odd other shorts that have never seen the light of day and It would be a big weight off my own mind to know they are all safe and sound in the land of Tron.

That sounds brilliant, maybe when you have edited them you could release a DVD called "Shanes Shorts" or something. I would love to see more shorts after seeing the ones on Shanes World.

Sounds like an ace find!
Can't you get some other sap to digitize all the finished shorts in the collection for you?

The Shane Meadows Director's Label DVD is all very well, but to be honest I'd rather get my hands on a copy of this instead:
