That fuckin' Judd. And Ivy Tilsley pre op and nympho.
Ever watched the Yorkshire accents with subtitles? Funny as fuck.
Meantime, Made In Britain, Raining Stones, Small faces are among a few other classics.

Yeah, I love that bit at the start of Raining Stones where Ricky Tomlinson and Bruce Jones (is that his name - Les Battersby) are trying to sell the sheep they have caught to local butchers.

Yeah, it is class...esp when they are wrestling with it in the van and it farts. Class.
Two more good 'uns are Sweet Sixteen and One Lst Chance are well worth a mention.
There is just something about these films that leave American movies in the dust.

Anybody bought the Alan Carke boxset? The Firm and both versions of Scum and Elephant, great stuff! Pity it's only on Region 1 Why has no one picked this up for Region 2 after all he was one of our greats!

My mate owns an Independent DVD Rental store in Peterborough, Canada and he says that British films are one of the big shifters....everyone wants them.

Yeah 'If....' has to be up there its amazing, as is Brighton Rock. My Summer of Love was pretty good though not one of the best. Last Resort was great. Most of Mike Leigh's are great, esp. Meantime and All Or Nothing. And any Ken Loach of course, who happens to be from the same town as me. Dead Mans Shoes is my number one though.

Nuts in May is a good Brit film if you can get past the first boring half hour...when Fingers and Honky get to the camp it is hilarious.

My favourites would be
Dead man's shoes - Just the best British film for a long time Trainspotting - Great acting, at a time when McGregor would do decent films Enduring love - Daniel Craig awesome, some great scenes and location. All the Monty Python films The intellegence men - to me the most under rated piece of Morecombe and Wise work Alfie - the original of course

Not sure if it was technically English or Irish but 'The Crying Game' certainly deserves a mention.

Nobody's mentioned my favourite Brit film....Snatch. That is one brilliant movie. I also love Trainspotting, Dead Man's Shoes, A Clockwork Orange (Does it count? LOL) Hmm...what else? I LOVED Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels. I'm a big fan of Guy Ritchie. And, of course (I'm sucking up now....watch it!) Everything by Mr. Meadows
