The Aristocrats was good stuff. Although the American pronounciation of 'aristocrats' is weird, and put me off initially. haha
The joke that the whole film is discussing, and presenting in different forms, is possibly the crappest joke you are ever likely to hear. The laughs are concocted from making the telling of the joke as foul and depraved as possible. The miming of the joke is my favourite bit!

I liked The Aristocrats too, it did seem to run out of steam as it got nearer the end. It was about 15 minutes too long IMO, and the British comedians were hardly given screentime.

Just to carry on something from earlier in this thread.
Went to see "walk the line" last night.
WOW. I thought it was awesome. Remember when you were a kid and when you went to see Superman, or something you'd come out of the cinema and want to be Superman.
Well I want to be Johnny Cash.

DVD: In My Fathers Den - Slow burning character drama with twist towards the end beautifully filmed (using wonderful small town New Zealand locations) well acted, another cracking independent film!
DVD: Ghost Dog: Way Of The Samurai - Jim Jarmusch's most accessible movie, quirky grounded and at times comical very well acted, again great uses of inner city locations both real but visually appealing some great characters and good pacing. I’ve seen it a good 5 times now and still is as good as ever.
Dave what did you think of Cock and Bull story my friends reaction to the movie have been incredibly mixed some loved it some really hated it...opinions?

Dave what did you think of Cock and Bull story my friends reaction to the movie have been incredibly mixed some loved it some really hated it...opinions? I really liked it. All the Coogan and Brydon banter is the main source of the fun, but I also really liked the whole mess of a story. With the story being all over the place, and constantly back-tracking, it's like a clever arthouse film, but without the need for the viewer to stretch their grey-matter to breaking point. I found it a strangely relaxing experience being able to let the film do all the 'thinking' as it goes off on tangents for you! I'm pretty sure that makes no sense.

Cool thanks for your opinions, I'll have to wait for DVD now I really like the look of it. Winterbottom's films always seem to split the audience I loved 24 Hour Party People many of my friends hated it though.

Al, I prefer 24 Hour Party People to A Cock and Bull Story because I just thought Story was going to be a lot funnier than it was.
Phill... Is it the region 1 DVD of Neverwhere? I bought it about two years ago and have still only watched the first couple of episodes. Was a big fan of it when it was on TV. I shoplifted the oversized novel from WH Smiths. I was only 13.

Yea it's the region 1 version of Neverwhere you can't get it anywhere else mate. Just read the author's approved edition of the novel and it's superb! The t.v series is lacking in one area and that's budget, would love to see a movie made of it. Apparently the Henson company have optioned it after Gaiman wrote Mirrormask for them!
