So what do you lot think of the new album?
Ive had it on constantley for a week or so and i have to say they are one of the most interesting and raw bands ive heard in ages, nice to hear music played for the sake of music rather than pre packed pop shite.
Just to piss you all reet off i got for tickets last thursday for their gig at the magna in rotherham, me and me mate are going and ill get 100 quid each for the last 2 tickets.

yeah my friend has 4 tickets to the sold out show in cambridge, she wants to sell two on ebay, and i said i'd sell them on my account so i am, and taking 15% profit.. wooo. as for the band they're pretty good, its a shame they're so popular cos the second album will be rubbish, even if it is good, if you get me? anyway "Tales Of Sanfransisco" is a superb song, woo for arctic monkeys.. they're so dam young as well, the lead singer is my age! (19 if ya didnt know)

nice one... I think its great that you got the tickets and will now make a fat profit. Why don't you run off a few copies of the album and bang them out with the tickets on ebay. you should make a few cheeky quid extra, off the band.
AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
C'mon, selling tickets on ebay is wank. I'm sure that when the band added the extra dates, there main aim was to line greasy little pockets, so other real fans would have to pay massively over inflated prices.
The band would be proud of you.
Well done fellas

No doubt about it's a great debut, I was kinda dubious of all the hype and did'nt want it to live up it in a way but (un)fortunately it does. Lets hope the monkeys can evolve a bit more than Oasis managed to a decade ago.
As for ebay tickets yeah its a bit of a tosspot thing to tout tickets but I've paid inflated prices myself and no ones forcing anyone to buy them. I blame ebay they should regulate the site better I read some poor fucker was duped into paying £300 for a PICTURE of a new XBOX printed out on a computer and it's legal.

Hey I don't want to sound like I'm some moaning old prick, ranting on about ebay.
But....Blaming ebay is a little like blaming the internet for some of the vile sick shit that people upload onto it. People just shouldn't do it, its wank.
Especially when its real fans trying to make a quid out of other real fans. Oh well.
Whatever anyway, it just drives me fookin crazy.

Not having a go mate but ebay are on to a good thing (remember the live8 thing when they refused to pull the tickets being touted). I just think considering the sheer size of ebay now and the money they personally are making they should be obliged to observe fair trading standards in the way high street stores are expected to.
And i agree about the fans making money off other fans, I recently had extra tickets for another band and could easily have doubled my money on ebay but chose to sell them on the bands forum at face value.
Having said that I paid nearly £200 last year for front row seats to a much less popular band after trying to get decent seats moments after they supposedly went on sale and whaddya know all these 'so called' ticket specialists (TOUTS!) had dozens of front row seats advertised on ebay. When we went to the gig most people in the front row had bought theres off ebay too.
Somethings rotten in Denmark!

You lot and your tastes in fancy big-name bands!
You don't get any of that trouble seeing lesser known bands in intimate pubs for between five and fifteen quid! Plus, there's nothing better than being near enough to the band to be able see what they're actually doing.

Cool, listen I don't wanna sound like the the ebay police.
Sinbad, you are one of the good guys.
And Dave I agree, apart from the fact that the monkeys were only charging £14 for quite small gigs.
anyhow.... Have a good day everyone.
Happy Shopping

So i go to the trouble to get the tickets which sold out in 2 mins and you can only buy four at a time so i do even though there are only me and my mate going. Now the price of the tickets is not decided by me and if some assclown wants to pay 100 quid then let em, i agree about touts but so what its there deal to do that if they want. I have paid well over the odds before and been happy of been able to get a ticket after they had sold out. I find it deeply upsetting that you feel the need to bring this up on here, what has it got to do with you. Also products are and will always be sold on at inflated prices and as long as the market is there people will make profit off others.
and whats so bad taking 100 quid a ticket off some rich stupid twat whos only going because they are the in thing and the new coolest band? Oh and if i can get 100 quid a ticket which looks likley i will probably sell all my tickets including my friends and mine.

hmm touting ay.. it is a little annoying cos it means tickets sell out quicker, to people who just wanna make money from them.. but still without touts i wouldn't have my ticket rto "give it a name" fest which is on sat 29th, i was about to get tickets and they JUST sold out.. so i had to look on ebay and i payed about 10 quid more, and now i am a very happy chappy so theres good and bad about touts, im not a tout, i'd just like to make a little bit of money. i think its more yupto the ticket sellers/venues to do somthing about it rather than ebay, ebay is simply a community of people who sell things to each other, ebay can restrict them in certain ways, theres no need to stop ticket selling, what if someone had a ticket, but found out they couldnt go anymore? they'd be screwed. well there are different opinions. everyone makes money off the backs of big bands etc, theres nout you can do about it really.

hey jtrodreigez,
Nice one, your right anyone has the right to do whatever they want to do. No problem, the fact that people have opinions means that we're not always going to agree whether those things are right or wrong.
My problem with it is, alot of people went to the trouble to ring up for tickets or go on the internet, and ring and ring as soon as the tickets went on sale. But still couldn't get a ticket. They tried just as hard as those who were lucky enough to get the tickets.
But hey if you got the tickets, then its your right to charge other fans like yourself a massive price to go to the same gig. Its probably good business, I just don't agree with it.
I don't know why your upset, this was brought up in the first two threads of this message, including a message from yourself.I didn't bring it up. Also the fact its on a public section of a forum for all of us Shane Meadows fans means that we are welcome to comment on it.
But listen if your upset with that, then I'll apologise.
The situation in general pisses me off, but please don't take it personally. I didn't mean to offend you.
As RyD22 quite rightly said, a situation that we can do nothing about.
Good luck selling your tickets and enjoy the gig.

i was joking about the upset thing and the post was sort of a piss take anyway, i understand what your saying but i just dont give a shit about other fans, i was quick enough they weren't. The thing that makes me a snide is that i wont even sell my mates the tickets cause they aint gonna pay what i could get, now thats a bit tight but like i said i get fucked over all the time paying over the odds for all sorts of stuff. This day and age money talks and bullshit runs a marathon.

Good to see herostar and JT agreeing to disagree.
Isn't it nice that we're all nice and civilised on here! (No sarcasm there either!).
