i was thinking about Mark Hughes impossible volley to keep you out of the final myself. Still dont know how he did it....:-) Oh, thanks for re-opening that scar largemichael If ever a goal was to shape a clubs history it's that one. Had we beaten United, we'd have been favourites to beat Chelsea in the final (We'd convincingly done the double over them already that season) and I'm pretty sure we'd have also stayed up. How times have changed since that fateful volley. Mind you, having said that I pretty much despise the Premiershite. At this level I can get to around 90-odd % of all our games home and away. Had we been playing top flight football now I doubt I'd be able to afford the lump payment for a season ticket every year.

Kezz, i have a soft spot for forest because The Clough is one of my heroes, but that game at the weekend might well have been the worst defending i have ever seen in my life !

It was exactly the same as when we played them except Scunny bagged a couple of late ones and we squandered ours.
Really starting to think Forest are going to bottle it this year. According to what I've read, and other Forest fans, they haven't played well all season and have nicked a few results.

Well I'm not gonna lie there has been quite a few games where we have got the result and not the performance.. but surly its best that way round? Afta all Its that reason we are STILL top.
But I admit we'v gotta lot of work 2 do after last saturday (which was possibly my worst day of footy in years with The Reds losin 4-0 on tele, and England not winning.) and the fact its only 1 win in 6 now.. but have no fear..
..Danny Cullip is soon to be here.! & I know its a bold statement but I can see our fortunes gettin better on his return as before he got injured that back line was solid as fuck. He's very good tactically aswell as physically.

Forest 0 - 4 Scunthorpe England 0 - 0 Macendonia Croatia 2 - 0 England.
270 minutes played, 0 goals scored, 6 goals against..
A defeat for Forest this Saturday and I'l consider supporting NottsCounty and Scotland.

Well, I know there are those that can't wait to see the back of this thread.. But when I have a weekend of results like this one theres no way I'm gonna keep quiet! Firstly I reckon this weekend was brilliant with many entertaining matches, to follow up a great week for British teams In Europe. Forest(1st) 1 - 0 Bristol City(2nd).
5 points clear at the top now, in what was possibly the best game Iv seen in over a year easily. We'v got Cheltenham away next week, three likely points from tht clash will take us half way thru November regardless of a couple of defeats.
Derby 0 - 1 Birmingham!! Never felt more like singing the blues, when Forest Win, & Derby lose! Ohh Ohh Ohhh...
County & Stags both won making it all three Nottinghamshire clubs get the three points.
Lecister didn't win, Sheff Utd Lost.. & there were a lot of fuckin stunners in the back of the net.
I'l end on this note as always.. "EI EI EI O, Up the football League we go! When we get promotion, this is what we sing, We are Forest! We are Forest! Calderwood is our King!"

The last few seasons (since the Playoff's under Paul Hart in the championship) I'v been very used to watching a 'typical' Forest, that usually involves long-balls, pathetic attempts on goal, A very defensive feel. This includes last season in League One under Megson. Now we've finally adopted the attacking approach we've needed for so long, 10 clean sheets this season in the league alone, strength in every area of the pitch, & a very sexy looking 3-4-3 Attacking system. The Outcome = 7 points clear at the Top! What with Cup games and various weekends off, I think its certain we'l still be top at Xmas! Kieran. ;D

Forest have a squad that is far too good for League 1. Their forward line is sh*t hot. Correct me if I am wrong...Tyson, Hoult, Lester, Agogo, Harris. Superb for the level. Calderwood is a good organiser aswell. When he was with us he played 5 at the back, not sure if this is the case with Forest. A lot of the time when he was (northampton) with us the footy wasn't pretty but he got results and thats what counts.
They will definately go up this season. Unfortunately for us this season, we have got a very attacking manager but the players aren't great. Still, wouldn't be surprised to see Calderwood come knocking for Chambers and Crowe in January

Hello,
K£zZ, just thought I'd let you know there's another Forest fan on the site (sorry, if there are others and I've missed you). Had a season ticket up until '95, but gave it up because I wasn't living in Nott'm by then as was missing too many games- especially mid-week-'cos of work. Don't get to too many games these days in truth. Saw the game against Scunthorpe on Sky. I watched it in a pub in Edinburgh. Had to be at my most assertive to get the bar staff to put it on (and keep it on; they switched channels twice during the match!!), which was a bit embarassing as in turned out, since it meant the punters in the pub were subjected to 90 minutes of bloody awful football and they knew who to blame! Mananged to see them at Cheltenham last weekend. Not a pretty sight-basically defend, hit them on the break, defend, hit them on the break, then defend, defend, defend 'til full-time, but I guess this is the way we have to play to get out this league. Thought Smith, Southall and Agogo looked good. Bit disappointed with Commons, who I'd heard good things about, but then we don't really need midfielders at the moment :-). Well, mustn't complain too much- we are now 7 points clear and my daughter's boyfriend (Rangers) reckons Calderwood is just the right man for the job. Let's hope we don't f**k it up over Xmas! Jill

Kieran. ;D Well kezz, won't dispute, Forest seem to have been doing the business this season but the two games I've seen (Us, and Scunny) you looked the worst team in the division. Of course, it isn't based upon two games, but this league is far, far from predictable and that 7 point league could get cut very fast. I still fancy you to win it overrall, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if suddenly you went into a bad run and couldn't buy a win. We're playing superbly at the moment, and have only lost 1 in 11 games, and all season I've not yet seen us play a team who were clearly better than us. One thing puzzles me, I've never heard the formation 3-4-3 ever been called "sexy" before now. It's a direct, hump-the-ball-up-the-pitch strategy isn't it?
