'Doesn't sound much, but when you think about it, I can't think of any other charactes in anything that I feel the same way about.' On reflection.... I'd say Homer. I know the last few years have been shite and the first few years were lame, but the years inbetween?? You've just got to LOVE that 'man.' Probably are some parallels to draw with Ricky too, but I'm too tired right now Edit: pretty significant praise though?

But do you think it's easier to create an animated loveable dimwit than a live action one. I'd say yes! Welcome to the Trailer Park Boys thread AlexChandon. We always need more on here! So you are going to film some of your own TPB-esques stuff? Or am I misunderstanding your post? "Pills-bandy-dough-boy"

"Pills-bandy-dough-boy" Nah, if that were true you'd be able to name an equally lovable animated character, but I very much doubt that you can Ricky and Homer share a lot of similarities/admirable characteristics despite their utter and complete stupidity: e.g total and complete devotion to the love of their life to the exclusion of anybody else; an ability to find happiness in simple everyday things ('pepperoni...awesome', 'beer, arrghhh'); and, of course, they've both been abandoned by their mothers (we assume in Ricky's case)-the vulnerability factor........ it's this combination of things that makes us love them I think ;D ;D Edit: plus, on a level they're both 'terrible' parents ('can you open the window honey; the cops have Daddy's prints on file' ), but they're both devoted Dads!

You're probably right about all that Jill... I think I was just thinking about the live action character and how you need to find a Rob Wells to perfectly convey the delicate balance. But then you need a voice actor for a cartoon character! DOH!
Season 7 Episode 1.... nearly there!

Ricky: I’m self-smarted
Homer: I am so smart! I am so smart! S-M-R-T! I mean S-M-A-R-T...
We shouldn't compare them, they're soul mates ;D
Yeah, season 7 starts tonight it seems................

"Ray! Ripping the plumbing out of your walls for liquor money IS fucked!"
Glad to say the boys still have it! Some top moments in this first episode. Perhaps a slightly more surreal edge to it.... but it works for me.
"...and there's these things that kinda look like cats, but they've got these long beaky faces. There's one crow called Cheryl who's pretty cool."
Nice to see Shitty Bill getting another appearance!
I'm not too happy that the show has gone widescreen now though! The full frame old school style was perfect.
I see they are referring to Phil's whole name now! Phil Collins! Just using his entire real name as his character name. Well how could you give up that name for some make-believe alternative!

Well well the 1st episode . . i thought it was well pulled off. Ive herd alot of people complaining that it was basically crap, which is a shame cause i very much enjoyed it. I saw it as them drawing out there new lives for whats to come in the future of the new season. But i have to admit theres summat slighty different to the whole goings on, i suppose you could put it down to the HD Widescreen . . Bahh

Yeah, the HD widescreen presentation does make it feel quite different. A bit like when Red Dwarf switched to that stupid, glossy American style! Well actually, no where near that bad though.
No Randy yet though!

Where have you managed to see the first episode of series 7 ? Some of us ain't been so lucky yet ! Dokdrain, me neither. There are d******ds on the TPBs website, but I tried it and it didn't work (then again, I'm not the most technically adept person). Part one of episode 1 (7) was available on google video (youtube) yesterday (9mins) with the promise that parts two and three would be uploaded today, if you want to watch it on your pc. Think I'll wait a while....

Loved it!!
Watched it on my pc so didn't really notice the wide screen format, but I suppose the documentary pretense was abandoned quite a while ago now?? Liked the Sheryl Crowe joke. Jacob's seventies haircut and moustache made him look like a bad 70s B movie actor (or maybe a bad porn star)-he's reallt quite different, but 'suppose they have to build a persona for him now.
The affectionate/nostalgic tribute to Cory and the Trevster complete with trademark TPB device-sentimental music- juxtaposed against all those flash backs of Ricky's abuse was brilliant-very funny.
Like the way they're setting up the Lahey/George Green relationship (the George Green's revenge idea has legs I think). And yeah, Bubbles covered in bread...splendid!!

"Knock, knock boys." I hope Cyrus makes a come back! No Randy in this first episode. I thought that was a bit odd, because I thought it would have been good to remind the audience that Randy is the TRAILER PARK SUPERVISOR now. We did get Ray re-capping that bit of the story though I guess. "You better chill oot there heavy metal dick".... oops, a series one episode one quote there. Just came to mind thinking about Cyrus.

"Knock, knock boys. I hope Cyrus makes a come back! Ricky: Knock, Knock, Trevor. Trevor: I'm not gonna say, "Who's there?", man. Ricky: You just did, you fucking idiot! Yeah, I'm gonna miss Cory and Trevor too Not sure about the return of Cyrus scenario-kind of think they have to take the show somewhere else now, but we'll see.... As a ps. was talking to my lad about what it is about TPB that generates that deep affection/love sentiment and he just said 'I feel for them'-think that nails it really??
