"This is England 86" is the new and final (probably) title for the series. Me and Jack Thorn have just put the final touches to the 4 scripts and I am now proud to say that it is finally finished. Channel 4 have greenlit it, though there are still a few minor details to sort out and we look set to shoot at the end of March, beginning of April. To be broadcast later in the year on C4! The Cast (who haven't been cut, died or had a sex change) should get the scripts sent out very soon so they can see what has become of themselves! For fans of the film, all I can say at this point is that Milky is Alive, Combo Returns and Woody is now Climbing the Management ladder at Quick Save and About to Marry Lol. The rest is Top Secret!

How did you find setting the series in 1986 Shane. Many things had changed since TIE the film, politically, socially, culturally, fashion etc. Did you have to do a whole load of new research? Skin heads were totally passe in most urban areas. The hooligan documentary on the West Ham ICF set in 1985 is a good indicator of the "zeitgeist" of the mid eighties. You can find it on YouTube.

Top news!
Are you directing all four eps, Shane? Just there was some talk last year that you might not.
The thing about skinheads in 86 is a good point. You had to be a total nutter to still be a skinhead then. Well where I lived in Plymouth that seemed to be the way.

Hooray! Something rather ace to look forward to by the sounds of it. Will Woody's look now incorporate a Dingle's style beard?

I hope the series includes the fact that Kinder Eggs became a total washout in 1986 because about 80% of the time you ended up with the Mexico '86 World Cup mascot inside! Rubbish!

Shane is there any chance i could play a wheelchair bound Thatcher the Milk Snatcher? Hang on i'll practice being a heartless bitch............................................................................ No free milk for the school kids. No free milk for the school kids. No free milk for the school kids.
This acting malarkey is a doddle. Hay you miner get back to work or i'll get the police to beat you up.
I can act Shane so as Yosser used to say "Gizza job i can do that"
