Not used it, but heard some annoying things about it. Can't recall specifics, but it's all stuff to do with Digital Rights Management (DRM) and it being really thorough... automatically checking online for rights all the time and so forth.
I'll stick with my XP service pack 1... I don't even want to progress to service pack 2!
We had Microsoft conference at work last year where they were banging on about Vista. Looks quite snazzy, but I wasn't really paying much attention.

You'll notice in peep show actually, that jeremy has a Mac and mark has a PC ha ha. Smug and annoying? misleading? More like Proud and Funny, and so very right! Its embaressing for PC owners! Here we go! hahaha Viruses.... it's true that there are tonnes of viruses for PCs, but there are also some for macs too. It's all to do with popularity. There are a tonne of viruses for PCs because they are popular. If macs became the dominant computer system, they would find that there were more viruses written for them. It has nothing to do with the security of either system. Misleading. The one about "I wouldn't want an office computer in the home" is just vague rubbish. Perhaps it's just because the PC is far more versatile than a Mac that it can fit into any place where a computer is used. The "fun stuff" one about pie-charts is just a joke with no actual reality to it... Infact, wasn't it only recently that Macs actually came with any decent software built in so that you could actually do something with photos instead of just look at them and make them sepia? A right swizz... next! Restarting.... hmm I only use a Mac at work... and never for anything taxing, and I would say it needs restarting just as much as a PC (not very often in both cases).... but I've stared at that spinning disc of colour a few times as the Mac locks up. No amount of Force Quitting would solve it. I do dislike Apple... some would say irrationally so... but I can't help myself! "Get Info"? It's "Properties" you trendy hippy swines! ;D I enjoy this:

I use both regulaly.. I prefer PC's, simply for the reason that you don't have to Hold down the apple key and dislocate ur shoulder to do something..
But Final Cut Pro is the shit on Mac.

final cut pro is the shit indeed! I dunno... i can see why people like PC's. But i personally have always had a better all round experiance with Mac. I personally would like Macs to stay less popular. Makes me a bit different

I personally would like Macs to stay less popular. Makes me a bit different That's one of the main things that makes me hate the Mac, and all it's 'lifestyle accesory' posturing. It doesn't make you different, it makes you a sucker for 'trendy' advertising and/or 'trendy' peer-pressure! (yes, a bit rude and unfounded that, but it's my irrational hate of Apple coming through once again. Apologies for that. ;D ) PCs are cooler because they are not trying to be cool. Macs are all about fashion. Look at all the hilarious and dated looking old Mac designs.... blummin' big monitor with a bit of blue or orange perspex over half of it..... a stupid lamp-shade thing.... a biscuit tin. PCs never date as badly because they are never trying to appeal to the perception-obsessed hippies and 'artists' of the time. But I guess the fact that Macs keep changing is okay for Mac lovers, because when you want to upgrade, you have to buy a whole new machine anyway! Suckers. .... and relax. Oh... I must also point out that our Mac laptop at work (a G4 powerbook I believe) died on Wednesday. Work stuff lost on that... very annoying. No reason for it to have done so.

ha ha, no offence taken Dave, but no amount of trendy advertising or trendy peer pressure got me into buying a Mac, although i admit that there is pleanty of trendy advertising (not so sure about the peer pressure, i've never seen anyone say to a mate "get a mac, it makes you cooler")
I don't have a Mac because of the way it looks, i mean i like the way it looks for sure, its a bonus! But i have a Mac because it works for me, I wont suggest it works for you, i believe PCs are great for some people, just not most, or me. I like the adverts cos they are (to some extent) true, and very funny, and its always fun to laugh at other people.
a G4 powerbook died? Surely gotta be about 4 years old right? I'd like to see a PC last that long without updates.
PC's are better in the respect you can upgrade them whenever you like, you don't need a new machine like you do for Mac. But unless your a technical wizz with the insidey bits on PC's then you don't really like fannying around with the inside of it, pleanty of things could go wrong. When your TV is getting a bit shit.. you don't upgrade the inside of it.. you get a new one, same goes for gaming consoles, dvd players, MP3 players, cars etc etc. Another thing about all these is that they also change their style, new TV's are always changing to fit styles, same with everything else.. apart from PC's. and don't say "well a PC isn't for style.. its for doing PC stuff" well a car is for driving.. doesnt mean people like it to look good?
aannndd.... breeathe. Ha ha, i do love our heated deabtes Dave!

I use a Mac at home; I would never buy anything else, and I am as far from trendy as you can get. I prefer Macs simply because they are much, much easier to use. Put simply, when I use a PC (every day, at work), I often end up wanting to throw the machine out of the window (no pun intended) with frustration, but with a Mac, it's all so eeeasy. Oh, and the graphics are amazing.

I have just bought a new computer, but my last one (a Mac, of course) has lasted seven years, and it's still going strong. No upgrades, nothing. And yes Dave, it's got blue perspex, etc. You might take the piss out of that design, but the reason it looks so dated now is because after those coloured iMacs were released, they influenced the whole design world. Consequently, you will remember that kettles, irons, dustbins and all manner of other household appliances in the UK were suddenly being manufactured in colours to match the Macs. It is yet another example of Apple leading the way (I mean, it's well known that Windows was a sub-standard rip-off of the original Mac operating system. Without Mac, you suckers would still be using DOS.); you can't blame Apple if the rest of the world want to jump on the bandwagon.

By the way, Dave, it reeeaaalllly sounds like this subject is hitting a nerve with you. A little too sensitive, perhaps? Maybe because you know the truth...
