By the way, Dave, it reeeaaalllly sounds like this subject is hitting a nerve with you. A little too sensitive, perhaps? Maybe because you know the truth...

Its a computer, who gives a fuck? And yes, like most people on here, i use em all day every day too. Fact is, for creativity, you are better off with a mac.For boring standard shit, a p.c is perfectly o.k. This is like argueing about whether your typewriter works or not...

Fact is, for creativity, you are better off with a mac. Explain. Say I'm a poet and I'm sitting down to create a new masterpiece, what advantages does the Mac's keyboard and/or word processor have (in terms of creativity) over the likes of Word?

No-one ever called you pedantic, nor a poet either, did they?Apparently i should explain i meant for say graphics and graphic design.a friend of mine (who is a graphic designer) says he wouldnt touch windows with a big shitty stick. Have you written a lot of masterpieces? I thought your job in life was to tell people they should'nt talk about politics?

Apparently i should explain i meant for say graphics and graphic design. Aye, if you meant graphics and graphics design, you should have said graphics and graphic design. Then you wouldn't have to resort to having a weak dig at me because you felt all defensive when I jokily asked you to elaborate on your vague point that Macs are "better for creativity". Of course, if you are of the opinion that creativity begins and ends with graphic design, then that's another thing entirely. And people can argue politics all they want, but it won't get them anywhere and chances are they'll just get upset when someone disagrees with them. But then again, that's somewhat irrelevant to this thread, eh Mike? Me, I've nothing against Macs. I've used FCP a fair bit, though honestly I've not found it to do anything that couldn't be done on a high-end PC with Sony Vegas (but I'm not well-versed in them to tell the truth). My "company" might be getting a Mac soon because they reportedly handle graphic manipulation programs and such better. But inversely to the trendy slogans, I'd be using the Mac purely for work and the PC for fun as well as work (because as far as I know, writing is no more suited to a Mac than it is a PC).

it wouldnt last long. Anyway, sorry for not being specific enough, i realise some people need everything explaining to them. If i was being deliberately vague, i would probably say, P.c's are good for some things, macs for others. If we are gonna have a debate, give me something to get my teeth into, like say, politics...hey, come back !! That was'nt a weak dig, that cut you to your very core, and you know it.i dont do defensive, only attack, ask the local scallies....

Ooh, whiff of testosterone in the air. If you decide to settle this is a fight: a) can I watch?; b) will you promise to dress upo as The Green Bastard and 'Skinny Translucent Alien? (see TPB thread). Take it easy guys-it's a f*cking computer! Btw. My daughter (film student) keeps dropping hints that she'd like a Mac (reckons it's better for the technical stuff she has to do). Me, I'm clueless and I'm not biting.

Ha! Just joking Large! I'm in that place tonight-working at the computer; occasionally logging on to this splendid site (chewing gum and academic discussions on 'location': is there any place better on the 'net?) and, 'course drinking bottles of Peroni (Aghhhh beer-drool etc). Re: Green Bastard-see Trailer Park Boys season four-I had you pegged as the Green Bastard btw. As for Mr. Coyle, have no idea whether he's skinny, translucent or alien, but , as Dave says, we can draw inferences from posts!!! (I'm Joking Patrick!) Take care folks-love to y'all!

Give yourself more credit, sir! Jill, I'm not translucent but I'm rayt pale. And I'm not alien, but I have an oversized cranium. And I'm definitely not skinny. So I could be a Fat Little Bobblehead.
