I'm really shocked by this - that news article pretty much states that he killed himself. What a sad waste of a talented life.

I always though he was a good actor, only one that hadn't really had the chance to shine in many decent films - one of the first films I saw him in was the excellent Australian crime flick, TWO HANDS...
He certainly put in a great perfomance in CANDY, eh Hyde.
EDIT - that Gilliam flick only started shooting in December so I imagine he must have been on some sort of sabbatical or something. Surely the film cannot have wrapped already?

Exactly, Gilliam doesnt have much luck does he, and I wonder if the Joker is planned to be in the next film, woah when Dark Knight comes out how strange is it gunna be... I cant beleive I'm saying this but this has saddened me, he used to annoy me in films like The Patriot, A Knights Tale, had an annoying look to me, but in the end thats what made me warm to him, when he wasnt playing some hunk or something, spot on in Candy.

It's a shame; he certainly struck me as someone that would probably got he distance and have a really long career as an actor.

I never saw this one coming. It's weird that in the age of "Britney was just seen drinking!" tabloid media, things can still surprise. RIP Heath. What a waste.

I haven't seen too many of his movies, but I loved the guy in Casanova and I'm Not There. This was indeed a sad shock, and he will certainly be missed. RIP Heath.

i'm in shock still only found out when I got a paper this morning.
I've always loved his work Brokeback mountain was like a head to head between two of the best young actors of this generation, he is beyond excellent in that film, as he was in Monsters Ball.
It's sad to say but I remember thinking after watching Brokeback that he was a person who had either had depression or carryed a lot of demons with him because you can't produce a performance like that otherwise, you could feel his pain and anguish spilling out of every shot in that film.
I was really touched and inspired by his work and he seemed to have an attitude that suggested he was much more intrested in doing good work than being a star, which selfishly makes me even more sad about the performances he will not now go on to give.
What a loss.

This is a total nightmare ive love heath as an actor ever since he blew the entire cast out of the water in Monsters Ball and i was very excited about the upcoming Joker role. Just a week after losing Brad Renfro too.
Fucking stupid no talent cunts like docherty, whinehouse, britney, lohan and pals just seem to get away with all that shit and we lose 2 great actors in a week.
Its like what bill hicks or dennis leary once said about losing Kobain, Joplin, Jimmy etc and keith richards/ronnie wood is still fucking piling the drugs into him.
