Hi all, just returned from a trip to west africa, i had an appeal in my local paper for football shirts which was very successful, i then went over with them and arranged a couple of football matches, i took my sony v1e camera and made a 10 minute film, turned out rather well me reckons, watch it in HD here and let me know your thoughts please. ps Blackburn rovers are hopefully gonna show it at half time as a way of thanking the fans! oh almost forgot, password is wigwam

i appealed for any old rovers shirts, i got 60 plus 14 burnley ones, i made the film hoping that the club would donate some next year!

just wanted to check what the crack was with the appeal and what the film was hoping to achieve before I commented.
I think for that purpose its spot on and I'm sure it'd convince the club,
as for the filmmaking some great shots and editing! how many ND filters did you use? just the two on the camera?

yes i used the 2, i also graded it a little with magic bullet, it's not a film as such just a montage really which by the way was really hard to do, filming football is not easy at all!

think you could have done with one more ND,
yeah well most of the payed stuff I do is just montages, think you did a great job, you got just the right coverage for the football bits, I think the bit where the bloke says something along the lines of "im taking my ball home" is hilarious.
It must be really hard to get the right coverage and think about the finished product when your in such an exotic location and must just want to film everything! most of the stuff I do is filming the fairly mundane and trying to make it look good(how many different ways can you shoot a model getting their picture took) but filming in such an amazing place and trying to focus on the finished product must be difficult for the exact opposite reason, everything looks amazing just overwhelming !

cheers for that, i think the magic bullet effect actually makes the footage look a little blown out in places which is part of the effect, it makes the footage really warm, also filming black faces in the bright conditions is also hard

looks great, sometimes the definition in the faces is totally lost though which is a shame. I read they had a big problem on the last king of scotland shooting scenes with james mcavoy and forrest whitacre and keeping both their faces properly exposed. How close did you get to that crocodile??? i was kind of shocked that tesco is even setting up in africa now.

i was only a couple of feet from the croc, i'm re-grading it as i think i can probably get a better picture with a different plug in. tesco! couldn't use my club card though!!!

I really enjoyed that, really nice vibe to the film with a good cause thrown in.. (Although checking that guy out with the green shorts, I reckon Blackburn would do well bringing him back here for their own uses.)
Loved the old guy singing the wee song about Blackburn, that was a quality touch.

Watched this yesterday and really enjoyed it! Byoooooootiful footage! You got some really really nice shots. I kinda of switched off.. or rather skipped the football match bits, not cos there was anything bad about it.. I just find watching footie a bit boring! ha ha. Great cause though, the film achieves everything it sets out to. Made me smile. Great music too! Especially that guy's song. Brilliant.

Cracking stuff, really nice footage and I thought it looked great. I'm sure the Blackburn gang are gonna love seeing this and that they will help with giving the shirts ;D
